About the role We're seeking a hands-on Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and support embedded hardware platforms used in industrial and outdoor environments. This role spans schematic design, multi-layer PCB layout, power systems, and close collaboration with firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing partners. This is not a “paper-only” role — the ideal candidate has shipped real hardware, debugged boards on the bench, and understands how designs behave in the field. What You'll Do: As a Electrical Engineer, you will: Design and develop multi-layer PCBs (6+ layers) for embedded systems Own schematic capture, component selection, layout review, and bring-up Route and validate high-speed interfaces (PCIe, USB 3.x, MIPI CSI, Ethernet, etc.) Design and debug power architectures , including: POE/POE+/POE++ Solar-powered systems MPPT/battery backed designs Work closely with firmware teams on MCU and application processor integration Support board bring-up, validation, and manufacturing handoff Participate in failure analysis, root-cause debugging, and iterative revisions What You Bring: Compensation Range The base salary range for this role is $120,000-$160,000, plus a competitive equity package. • Provide development support, conceptual design and owner’s engineer services to clients • Perform technical evaluations of electric power generation projects and facilities • Support project economic and cost analysis, risk assessments, and contract development • Conduct engineering design reviews, technical due diligence, project development support, and conceptual design • Opportunity to travel within the United States as well as internationally

• Apply your knowledge of protective relaying and control systems for distribution and high voltage substations • Review protection and control schematics and wiring drawings for substation modifications and upgrades • Responsible for reviewing protective relaying philosophies and selection of relay, control, and communications equipment • Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve substation protection and control issues • Perform independent reviews of work prepared by others • Provide guidance as a mentor in the development of less experienced engineers • Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and construction coordination

• Identify relevant design criteria for high availability power system supplying data centers. • Define and own the overall power system architecture for data centers from utility point of interconnection through IT load. • Design high-reliability substations aligned with Tier III / Tier IV reliability standards for up to 50MW data centers. • Lead failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), short-circuit studies, coordination studies, and reliability assessments. • Ensure systems are designed for maintainability without downtime, including concurrent maintenance strategies. • Support black-start, islanded operation, and degraded-mode operating scenarios where applicable. • Design on-site or co-located generation, including: diesel or gas turbine generators; Battery energy storage systems (BESS); Co-located or on-site photovoltaic (PV) systems. • Define control strategies for dispatch, load-shedding, islanding, resynchronization, and grid interaction. • Coordinate integration of DERs with UPS systems, static switches, and data hall distribution. • Lead technical engagement with utilities, ISOs/RTOs, and interconnection authorities. • Support interconnection studies, protection coordination with utility systems, and compliance with grid requirements. • Interface with EPCs, OEMs, and equipment suppliers to ensure design intent is preserved through execution. • Establish and maintain design standards, reference architectures, and technical guidelines across multiple sites or regions. • Provide technical oversight during design reviews, FATs, SATs, commissioning, and energization. • Support operational teams with troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and system upgrades over the asset lifecycle. • Work cross-functionally with engineering, legal, commercial, and executive teams to align project goals.
