Infrastructure Operations Engineer

• Optimize the use of operational support systems/platforms/applications to improve network performance and enable employees to provision and maintain the network with minimal service interruptions. • Ensure Stable and reliable ISP Network Services (Access/Distribution/Core) • Respond with a sense of urgency to problems escalated to employee level. • Network troubleshooting and in-depth fault analysis; network and server hardware troubleshooting and repair. • Deployment and maintenance of networking monitoring, analysis and reporting tools. • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation. • Day-to-day network performance monitoring • Assist with building processes around network operations, monitoring, and tools. • Analyze and evaluate network changes, additions, and reconfigurations to prevent operational problems and ensure optimal network performance. • Training other engineers and technicians in technical matters. • Related duties as directed by management.
Job Requirements
- Significant experience with Telecommunications Networks including IP and Passive Optical Networks to support broadband services.
- Experience with any of the following technologies, Nokia BNG, Nokia Altiplano, Nokia NSP, Deepfield
- Experience with OSS/Network Monitoring Tools (Zabbix preferred)
- CCNP (or equivalent knowledge)
- Experience with Fortigate Firewalls
- Experience with Zabbix
- Experience with Ubuntu/Linux and Kubernetes Containers
- Experience with Windows Server Administration
- Experience with AWS/Azure
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, MIS, or a related field.
- Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements.
- Minimum of 7 years network operations/infrastructure in an enterprise or carrier grade network.
- Experience with Software defined network architecture, virtualization and cloud solutions, API integration.
- Experience working in a fast-paced 24/7 network operations department at an enterprise or carrier level network.

• Develop, maintain, and govern a centralized IT documentation repository covering infrastructure systems, network topology, server configurations, and asset inventories. • Create and update standard operating procedures (SOPs), runbooks, technical guides, and architecture diagrams for all IT infrastructure components. • Establish and enforce documentation standards, templates, and version control practices across the IT team. • Conduct periodic reviews and audits of existing documentation to ensure accuracy, relevance, and compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements. • Manage document lifecycle processes including creation, approval, revision, and archival. • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of servers, networking equipment, storage systems, and related infrastructure. • Document change management activities, including system upgrades, patching schedules, and infrastructure modifications. • Support incident management processes by maintaining accurate records of incidents, root cause analyses (RCA), and resolution steps. • Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to capture and translate technical knowledge into clear, structured documentation. • Ensure IT documentation aligns with ITIL frameworks, ISO 27001, or other relevant standards adopted by the organization. • Support internal and external audits by preparing and presenting accurate, up-to-date documentation packages. • Identify documentation gaps and proactively develop materials to address operational and compliance risks. • Liaise with system administrators, network engineers, security teams, and business units to gather technical information for documentation purposes. • Provide guidance and training to IT staff on documentation tools, standards, and best practices. • Prepare reports and dashboards on documentation coverage and status for IT management review.
