Technical Application Engineer

• Work with Sales, channels and customers on pre-sales and post-Sales technical efforts on Industrial Communications products (MDS and Lentronics) • Develop and execute technical sales strategies relevant to market opportunities • Communicate individual customer requirements to Sales Manager in regards to designs and quotations • Communicate requirements for order fulfillment to sourcing and operations teams • Direct the management of customer’s with clear communication internally and externally • Document competitors’ activities and assess potential market moves • Review and influence customer specifications to assure compliance and/or noted exceptions for development of equipment and service quotations • Be engaged with other Communications Sales Application Engineers, Sales Managers and immediate manager • Make technical presentations to all levels of the customer’s organization • Develop engineering and installation work scopes, schedules and cost estimates to facilitate total scope project offerings • Manage and negotiate commercial and contractual risk within the Inquiry to Order (ITO) process • Contribute positively to regional sales, orders, profitability, and ITO quality goals

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college and or equivalent years experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Technical Engineering role
  • CCNA / CCMP
  • IEEE, MIS, CS Six Sigma training or equivalent Quality Training
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision
  • Solid presentation skills

Role Description The Application Security Engineer is responsible for securing the software and applications that Credit Acceptance builds, buys, and operates. This role partners closely with engineering, product, architecture, and business teams to ensure that applications handling sensitive consumer, dealer, and loan data are designed, developed, and deployed in a secure manner, meeting both internal security standards and the regulatory expectations of a financial services environment. This position focuses on embedding security into the software development lifecycle by providing hands-on technical guidance, performing threat modeling and application security reviews, defining secure design patterns and guardrails, and supporting engineering teams as they build and maintain modern web, mobile, API, and cloud-based applications. This position will work from home; occasional planned travel to an assigned Southfield, Michigan office location may be required. Target Compensation A competitive base salary range from $85,695 – $125,685. This position is eligible for an annual variable cash bonus, between 7.5 - 15%. Final compensation within the range is influenced by many factors including role-specific skills, depth and experience level, industry background, relevant education, and certifications.
