Position Summary: The Senior Accounting Manager is responsible for oversight of Accounting and Internal Control activities ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The Senior Accounting Manager is expected to be hands-on and transformative. They will ensure comprehensive, accurate, and timely financial statements while creating a best-in-class accounting function that drives visibility, control, and efficiency. They will develop and implement an internal control framework to minimize financial risks and ensure compliance with industry regulations. Responsibilities: Core Accounting Duties - Ensure comprehensive, accurate, and timely financial statement reporting.  Prepare reports that present key insights, trends, and variances to company leadership. - Lead the research and interpretation of complex accounting topics and transactions in accordance with GAAP. Provide technical guidance on various accounting matters including revenue recognition, lease accounting, stock-based compensation, business combinations, and other relevant topics that arise. - Interface with the external auditors to ensure close collaboration on technical accounting guidance and adequacy of internal controls. - Support leadership by undertaking assignments on ad hoc reporting, projects, or other special initiatives. Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. - 5-7 years of relevant experience. - 3+ years management experience preferred - C.P.A. required; MBA preferred. - Strong working knowledge of GAAP accounting and general accounting concepts. - Manufacturing experience strongly preferred - Effective verbal and written communication skills to engage stakeholders at all levels. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail. - Strong desire to continuously research and implement ideas to improve accounting activities. - Ability to develop strong working relationships with cross functional partners to drive success of organization. - To perform this job successfully an individual should have significant experience using MS Office suite, internet-based software and Accounting or ERP software.  Physical Demands: This job is sedentary. • Lead Controllers and accounting teams to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting across assigned portfolios • Oversee monthly close, financial statement review, and variance analysis • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and client requirements • Support onboarding and transition of new properties and client assignments • Drive consistency and quality across reporting processes • Provide strategic and operational oversight of assigned shared services functions • Ensure scalability, efficiency, and standardization across processes • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce manual work and improve cycle times • Establish clear ownership, KPIs, and accountability within each function • Collaborate with Corporate Accounting and other stakeholders to resolve cross-functional challenges • Lead or support initiatives related to system implementation and optimization (e.g., Yardi, MRI, Avid, automation tools) • Drive integration between accounting functions and upstream/downstream processes (PM, Corporate, Clients) • Champion standardization and centralization efforts across the department • Ensure strong internal controls and audit readiness across all functions • Serve as a senior escalation point for complex accounting, operational, or client issues • Communicate proactively with leadership on risks, performance, and opportunities • Support client onboarding, transitions, and ongoing relationship management • Develop and mentor Controllers, Managers, and future leaders • Drive accountability, performance management, and succession planning • Promote a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement • Help shift the team from task execution to business leadership and proactive problem-solving

• Oversee daily accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and transaction processing • Ensure all transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with company and client policies • Monitor team workloads and ensure deadlines are met • Assist with onboarding new properties and assignments where needed • Support and coordinate monthly close processes • Review reconciliations, schedules, and reports prepared by staff • Assist in preparation of financial statements and reporting packages • Provide day-to-day supervision, guidance, and support to accounting staff • Train new team members and reinforce standard processes and procedures • Review work for quality and provide feedback for improvement • Serve as first level escalation point for questions, discrepancies, and issues • Research and resolve complex accounting or transactional issues • Ensure adherence to established workflows and internal controls • Maintain audit-ready documentation and support audit requests
