• Own the design, development, and deployment of robust machine learning solutions to solve cross-cutting problems within the fashion resale space • Work with and fine-tune models for representation learning, computer vision, and classification, and own efforts to productionize, scale, and evolve them as shared systems • Partner closely with senior stakeholders across the business to define problems, and lead the design of general-purpose, scalable ML solutions that power features like content understanding, moderation, and personalisation • Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of large-scale experiments, from hypothesis generation through evaluation, to guide model and product improvements, ensuring statistical difficulty and real-world applicability • Stay up to date with research, actively contribute to internal knowledge sharing and ML best practices, and chip in technical expertise to long-term product and data strategy • Participate in team ceremonies, such as agile cadences, technical whiteboarding sessions, and planning/roadmapping, setting technical direction and improving for the team • Communicate technical findings clearly and confidently to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior stakeholders, and influence decision making

• Build Core Platform Features: Develop backend services, APIs, and user-facing features across the platform. You'll work on everything from symptom tracking to lab result visualization to treatment recommendations. • Integrate Data Sources: Build integrations with wearables (Oura, Apple Health, Whoop, Garmin), lab providers, and other health data sources. Create pipelines that ingest, normalize, and store data reliably. • Contribute to AI/ML Systems: Work alongside senior engineers to build and improve our health intelligence engine—including conversational AI, recommendation models, and pattern detection. Prior ML exposure is helpful; willingness to learn is essential. • Ship Fast and Iterate: We're early stage. You'll ship code frequently, get feedback from real users, and iterate quickly. Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward action are key. • Build with AI-Native Tools: Use Claude, Claude Code, Cursor, and other AI-assisted development tools daily. We embrace vibe coding and expect you to leverage AI to move faster and learn faster. • Learn the Healthcare Domain: You'll pick up health data concepts, compliance basics (HIPAA), and clinical terminology as you go. • Manage and Mentor a team of talented Machine Learning and Data Engineers with various levels of experience and positively influencing their careers. • Partner with Product Managers and Architects to distill customer needs into actionable technical requirements and long-term roadmaps. • Ensure best engineering practices & oversee end-to-end execution of large-scale ML solutions with operational excellence. • Work with data platform teams to build robust, scalable batch and real-time data pipelines. • Work closely with the Fraud and Compliance Operations team and the Data Analytics team to identify and understand the ever-changing landscape of fraud vectors and then take action to keep up with new forms of fraud. • Work with other product and development teams to ensure that Twilio’s new and existing products incorporate anti-fraud efforts and publish the appropriate data to our fraud-fighting tools. • Advocate for agile processes, continuous integration (CI/CD), automated testing, and sophisticated model monitoring to minimize "toil." • Institute and maintain a rotating on-call incident escalation and response processes for the team. • Manage highly critical risk platform tools in the cloud. • Own reliability for the team’s services and participate in an on-call rotation. • Adapt to prioritizing multiple issues in a high-pressure environment. • Understand complex architectures and be comfortable working with multiple teams. • Conduct short term and long term planning to achieve team’s goals identifying both tactical and strategic commitments and gaps while performing capacity management and ruthless prioritization.

We are seeking a Staff AI/Backend Engineer to join our Technology team as a foundational engineering hire , reporting to the SVP, Technology. This role is critical in building the next generation of our products and internal tools. You will be a lead software engineer skilled at AI and product development ; passionate about using technology to drive positive social impact. In this role, you will take significant ownership of technical projects and building tools and products directly or guiding the work of product development contractors/vendors in partnership with various Cambiar product teams. The ideal candidate brings deep technical acumen and user-focussed problem solving, combined with the ability to move fast and lay sound groundwork for future scale. This role requires balancing operational excellence with the flexibility and creativity that drive innovation. What you’ll do: This role requires hands-on execution, a builder mindset and expertise in AI and software development (esp backend and data systems). You will be building tools and products to enable both internal efficiencies and external products; in partnership with product teams and where relevant dev vendors. Core Responsibilities: AI Product Development: Lead the design, prototyping, development, and deployment of new user-facing products and internal tooling, with a heavy emphasis on leveraging Artificial Intelligence both within the product and in product development. Implement AI applications/models and tuning/RAG where needed. Build products/features, starting with MVPs and iterating based on user feedback, while establishing reusable patterns for future development. System Architecture, Health & Sustainability: As part of broader product development, build and ensure systems are reliable, secure, performant, and aligned with business objectives leveraging both existing or (where needed) helping build new organizational infrastructure and data systems. Support the health and sustainability of the codebase—notice and advocate for patterns that allow code to be flexible, scalable, and approachable to other engineers. Communication, Collaboration & Iteration: While leading and owning AI product development and related aspects, communicate and collaborate closely across multiple roles/stakeholders eg. with Product Management to scope and execute product features per prioritization and roadmap or with Software Development Vendors to design/build/maintain parts of the product. This Role Is for You If… You bring 5+ years of software engineering experience with 2+ years of hands-on AI/ML product development ; including developing new web/mobile and AI applications from scratch with rapid iterations.
