Oracle Fusion Subject-Matter Expert
Type B DigitalType B Digital is a forward-thinking consulting firm focused on designing and developing innovative software solutions that elevate user experiences and drive measurable business impact. Our multidisciplinary team brings together creativity, engineering excellence, and strategic insight to deliver digital products our clients love. We’re expanding our engineering team and seeking a Full Stack JavaScript Engineer who thrives on building secure, scalable, and modern AI-first web and mobile applications.
Role Description This is a remote position. - Contract: 2 Months We are an IT services and consulting firm. We place senior Oracle Fusion specialists into client engagements where they act as the Oracle expert — defining solutions, configuring the platform, and bridging the gap between the client, their managed-services provider, and third-party software vendors. This is a hands-on senior IC role, not a team-lead or sales role: you own the Oracle work and you are trusted to run it. Our clients are typically mid-market to enterprise organizations running Oracle Fusion Cloud who have invested in a strong ERP but have not connected it to the rest of their systems — or who need an experienced hand to deliver a specific integration or controls project alongside their existing partners. You are the person we send in when the client needs real Oracle depth and a steady, responsive professional who makes them feel in good hands. Your First Engagement (Illustrative): Our first placement for this role supports a ~$1.5B fitness company preparing to go public. They run Oracle Fusion largely vanilla and need to integrate the Navan travel-and-expense platform on the expense side, with controls to manage travel spend and satisfy in-flight SOX/IT-general-controls work. You would be the Oracle SME bridging the client, their managed-services provider, and Navan, working toward a summer go-live. Future engagements will vary — additional integrations, controls work, EPM/Hyperion modernization, and general Oracle Fusion advisory. What You'll Do - Act as the lead Oracle Fusion expert on client engagements, owning solution design, configuration, and delivery on the Oracle side. - Design and deliver integrations between Oracle Fusion and third-party platforms (e.g., expense, travel, membership/CRM, and similar systems), using Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), REST/SOAP APIs, and file-based methods (FBDI) as appropriate. - Translate business requirements into Fusion configuration across Financials — General Ledger, Payables, Expenses — and related modules. - Define and configure controls and approval workflows in Fusion, with attention to segregation of duties, audit trails, and SOX / IT-general-controls requirements for public and pre-IPO clients. - Map data between systems: chart of accounts, cost centers, GL segments, employee and supervisor data, and posting logic across single- and multi-entity / multi-ledger configurations. - Coordinate cleanly across multiple parties — the client, their managed-services provider, and software vendors — owning the technical hand-points and keeping ownership clear at the seams. - Plan and support testing, UAT, cutover, and go-live from the Oracle perspective; manage risk around Oracle's quarterly update cadence. - Produce clear documentation, scoping input, and status communication — and be responsive. Several of our clients come to us specifically because a prior partner went silent on them. Qualifications - 5+ years hands-on with Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications, with deep focus in Financials (GL, Payables) and Expenses. - Demonstrated delivery of Oracle Fusion integrations to third-party systems — you can speak to specific integrations you designed and shipped. - Working command of Oracle integration tooling and patterns: Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), REST/SOAP web services, and FBDI / file-based data import. - Solid grasp of Fusion configuration: chart of accounts, cost-center and segment structures, posting and approval setup, and role/security design. - Experience supporting controls and compliance in Fusion — segregation of duties, audit trails, and SOX or IT-general-controls environments. - Client-facing maturity: able to run discovery, scope work, set expectations, and be the trusted Oracle voice in the room without day-to-day oversight. - Self-directed and reliable under a deadline; comfortable being the sole Oracle expert on an engagement. - Available during U.S. business hours including West Coast / Mountain time, and able to start quickly. Requirements - Direct experience integrating Navan (or comparable T&E platforms such as Concur, Expensify) with Oracle Fusion. - Experience with pre-IPO or newly public companies and the reporting/controls demands that come with them. - Oracle EPM Cloud and/or Hyperion (planning, consolidation, close) experience, including modernization from on-prem Hyperion to EPM Cloud. - Multi-entity / multi-ledger and multi-state tax configuration experience. - Oracle Fusion certifications (Financials, or relevant cloud implementation specializations). - OTBI / BI Publisher reporting; Procurement, SCM, or HCM exposure. - Prior consulting / contract experience working alongside other vendors and managed-services providers. Benefits - Engagement-based: we scope and confirm each engagement up front, with clear deliverables and a defined point of contact. - We handle the client relationship and commercials; you focus on the Oracle work. - Strong performance leads to repeat placements as our Oracle engagement pipeline grows. - Rate is commensurate with experience and engagement scope; submit your expected hourly/daily rate with your application. To Apply Please attach your CV or Resume along with a brief note on one Oracle Fusion integration you personally designed and delivered (including the systems involved, the method used, and the challenges faced), your availability, and your expected rate. Priority will be given to candidates who can join immediately and who can credibly demonstrate experience with expense-platform integration and SOX-aware controls.
