Mission Engineer
Aalyria
• Build and maintain high-fidelity system models within Spacetime to orchestrate dynamic wireless communication networks • Design and write production-ready "adapter layers" (primarily in Python or Go) to connect Spacetime with customer hardware • Create and optimize data schemas (using Protobuf, JSON, gRPC) to map complex external network topologies • Perform wireless communication system link budget analyses, wave propagation modeling, and coverage simulations • Act as the tier-3 escalation lead for live networks, diagnosing and resolving complex system integration issues • Work closely with the core Product and Software Engineering teams to translate custom integration patterns into reusable product features
Job Requirements
- Strong software engineering fundamentals paired with a solid understanding of physical-layer communications
- Hands-on software development experience and comfort passing an entry-level SWE coding assessment
- Experience with wireless communication systems, including RF path loss, propagation, network topology, and link budgets
- Practical experience developing or working with system/network simulation and modeling tools
- B.S. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience, typically backed by 3+ years of professional engineering experience

Role Description The Remote Project Engineer is dedicated to completing innovative technology projects, enhancing system capabilities, and fostering a culture of collaboration to directly address the unique challenges of the area. This position is key in delivering project solutions to clients that exceed expectations through careful understanding of client technologies and a thoughtful approach to problem solving. The ideal candidate typically has 5 years of experience designing, testing, and deploying complete technology solutions. Qualifications - Experience working with remote teams is required. - Hands-on or remote deployment and troubleshooting experience for different technologies including endpoints, servers, cloud technologies, networks, etc. - Ability to work in a fast-paced, and at times high-pressure consulting environment. - Experience using Professional Services Automation (PSA) tools or ticketing platforms such as ConnectWise is a plus but not required for this position. - Prior experience working in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment supporting multiple Clients is a plus but not required for this position. - Experience using Remote Monitoring and Management tools (RMM) such as Kaseya or LabTech/ConnectWise Automate is a plus but not required for this position. • Manage Demand via a Two-Level Engagement Model: Act as the expert gatekeeper to filter digital backlog (Level 1) and conduct deep-dive customer engagements to diagnose complex issues and craft bespoke formal proposals (Level 2). • Engage to support Stage-0 Process: Build visibility regard Stage-0 pipeline to identify upselling opportunities, working closely with sales to expand share wallet. • Sales & Channel Partner Enablement: Serve as the expert advisory point-of-contact for the sales team and channel partners. You will support the retrofit pipeline, conduct site visits for Bill of Materials (BOM) creation, and mentor designated Application Engineers to replicate successful models across North America. • Lead Technical Knowledge Transfer: Run targeted technical "Qualitrol Day" sessions (e.g., transformer monitoring, GIS Engineering best practices) at customer sites and turn real-world cases into reusable application notes and playbooks for the sales team. • Center of Excellence (CoE) Ownership Support the creation and execution of the USA CoE (both fixed and mobile facilities), including developing training content and champion certification models for partners. • Strategic OEM Engagement: Partner closely with OEM engineers to conduct technical tours, influence specifications, and accelerate solution BOM offers.
• Perform static and dynamic malware analysis using tools such as Detect It Easy, System Informer, and API Monitor to build attack chains and support emulation development. • Reverse engineer payloads and scripts to document execution behavior in detail. • Write emulations in languages such as C++, PowerShell, C#, and others to emulate malware behavior identified during analysis. • Develop detection logic based on emulations and malware analysis findings. • Identify telemetry gaps in Sysmon, auditd, EDR, and other data sources to improve detection coverage. • Produce high-quality technical reports with executive-level summaries of findings. • Debug malware and emulations using tools such as x64dbg, WinDbg, or other debuggers. • Analyze applications for vulnerabilities using reverse engineering and debugging tools. • Correlate events across incidents and malware behaviors identified during malware analysis. • Conduct hunt activities from a detection engineering perspective.
