Role Description This is a remote position. We are seeking an experienced Data Consultant with strong Workday HCM expertise to support a large-scale HR and payroll transformation programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for data integration, migration, validation, governance, and reconciliation activities, ensuring the successful delivery of Workday data solutions and seamless integration with downstream systems. This role requires a strong understanding of HR, payroll, and workforce data, alongside hands-on experience in ETL development, data quality management, and Workday implementation projects. Key Responsibilities - Data Integration, ETL Design & Delivery - Design, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines for data extraction, transformation, and loading across HCM, payroll, and workforce systems. - Ensure data transformations align with Workday data models and integration requirements. - Optimise SQL queries and ETL processes to improve performance, scalability, and reliability. - Maintain version-controlled ETL artefacts and documentation to ensure traceability and auditability. - Data Migration & System Integration - Execute data loads into Workday and downstream applications, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance. - Coordinate migration activities across HR, Payroll, IT, and third-party vendors. - Manage dependencies and alignment between upstream and downstream systems. - Support cutover planning and execution from a data migration perspective. - Data Quality, Reconciliation & Validation - Develop and execute comprehensive data validation and reconciliation frameworks. - Perform pre- and post-load validation activities, including: - Record count verification - Totals validation - Payroll reconciliation - Duplicate detection - Null and completeness checks - Ensure data meets agreed quality standards and business acceptance criteria. - Investigate, track, and resolve data issues, discrepancies, and defects. - Data Governance, Controls & Compliance - Support the implementation of data governance frameworks, including: - Data ownership - Data quality standards - Business rules - Control points - Ensure compliance with relevant regional and global data regulations, including payroll, tax, retention, and access requirements. - Promote best practices for data management, security, and regulatory compliance. Qualifications - Proven experience as a Data Consultant, Data Migration Consultant, or Data Integration Specialist. - Strong experience working with Workday HCM implementations and migrations. - Advanced SQL skills. - Hands-on ETL development and data transformation experience. - Experience with HR, payroll, and workforce data. - Strong data validation, reconciliation, and quality assurance expertise. - Experience coordinating data migration activities across multiple stakeholders. - Knowledge of data governance principles and compliance requirements. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. - Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. Requirements - REMOTE from: EMEA, APAC, India Deliverables - ETL design and implementation documentation. - Data migration plans and execution reports. - Data validation and reconciliation results. - Data quality dashboards and issue logs. - Governance and compliance documentation. - Successful Workday data loads and cutover support. Success Measures - Accurate and timely migration of HR and payroll data into Workday. - High-quality, validated data meeting business acceptance criteria. - Successful integration between Workday and downstream systems. - Compliance with governance, audit, and regulatory requirements. - Delivery of project milestones within agreed timelines.
