Senior Forward Deployed Engineer

Maybern

• Lead complex forward-deployed engagements from discovery through production adoption • Architect custom systems across AI, forecasting, optimization, simulation, and decision-support workflows • Design application patterns that connect Maybern's platform to customer-specific logic, data, and operating processes • Build evaluation, control, and validation frameworks for high-stakes outputs • Serve as a trusted technical advisor to senior customer stakeholders • Mentor engineers across the Forward Deployed Engineering team • Identify when bespoke work should become reusable product capability or shared platform infrastructure • Help define standards, technical direction, and operating practices for the function

Job Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in software engineering, machine learning, quantitative systems, applied research, or forward-deployed technical work with significant ownership
  • Strong record of leading ambiguous, customer-facing technical initiatives
  • Deep strength in Python, SQL, system design, and analytical application architecture
  • Strong applied AI or ML experience, with clear attention to evaluation, reliability, and real-world deployment
  • Deep quantitative reasoning across modeling, inference, optimization, simulation, statistics, or decision systems
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management
  • Strong taste in balancing speed, rigor, and trust in high-stakes environments.
