Role Description We are looking for a Platform Engineer to take ownership of infrastructure, security and compliance across a growing travel payments platform. This is a rare opportunity to become the first dedicated Platform Engineer within the business and the first engineering hire based in India. One of your first major projects will be helping the business achieve PCI DSS compliance, working closely with the founders and engineering team to strengthen security controls, improve infrastructure maturity and establish the processes required to support continued enterprise growth. The platform is already being used by major travel brands and airlines, and as adoption continues to increase, security, compliance and platform resilience have become strategic priorities for the business. You will have significant autonomy from day one, taking ownership of security and infrastructure initiatives while helping establish best practices across the wider engineering organisation. Key Responsibilities - Security & Compliance (Primary Focus) - Play a leading role in the company's journey towards PCI DSS compliance - Assess the current environment and identify infrastructure, security and operational improvements required to achieve compliance objectives - Design and implement secure cloud architectures within AWS - Develop and enforce security controls, policies and best practices across the platform - Manage IAM policies, network security, encryption standards and access controls - Work closely with the engineering team to ensure security is embedded throughout the software development lifecycle - Support external audits, security reviews and compliance assessments - Establish monitoring, logging and alerting processes aligned with enterprise security requirements - Help build a long-term security-first culture across the engineering organisation - Infrastructure & Platform Engineering - Design, build and maintain cloud infrastructure within AWS - Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code using TypeScript-based tooling - Improve platform reliability, scalability and resilience - Optimise deployment pipelines and engineering workflows - Implement monitoring, observability and alerting solutions - Contribute to disaster recovery and business continuity planning - Ensure infrastructure can support increasing transaction volumes and enterprise customer requirements - Architecture & Scalability - Support the continued growth of a platform processing high-value travel transactions - Ensure backend services and databases can scale effectively as transaction volumes increase - Identify performance bottlenecks and implement long-term solutions - Contribute to architectural decisions and platform evolution - Support developers with cloud-native engineering best practices - Drive improvements across platform performance, reliability and operational efficiency - Engineering Enablement - Act as the infrastructure and security specialist within the business - Support developers with secure coding and cloud architecture best practices - Help establish engineering standards across the organisation - Contribute to technical decision-making and long-term platform strategy - Share knowledge and help elevate engineering maturity across the team Qualifications - 4+ years of experience within Platform Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering or Backend Engineering - Strong commercial experience working with AWS - Deep understanding of Infrastructure as Code principles - Hands-on experience with SST, AWS CDK, Pulumi or similar TypeScript-based IaC frameworks - Strong understanding of cloud security principles and best practices - Experience supporting production environments handling sensitive or regulated data - Previous experience supporting PCI DSS compliance initiatives would be highly advantageous - Experience working within fintech, payments, financial services or other regulated environments would be beneficial - Experience supporting compliance frameworks such as PCI DSS, SOC2, ISO27001 or similar - Comfortable working with auditors, security consultants and compliance stakeholders - Experience working with distributed systems and cloud-native architectures - • Serve as primary technical administrator across IRC enterprise AI environments, currently including Anthropic (Claude) and OpenAI platform deployments • Manage user access, API key governance, workspace configurations, and environment-level settings across AI platforms • Monitor system health, usage patterns, and API performance across AI tools; triage and resolve operational issues as they arise • Maintain and improve observability across AI systemsTracking uptime, error rates, token consumption, and integration reliability • Oversee and document configuration changes, environment updates, and deployment procedures across managed platforms • Support responsible use by flagging anomalous usage patterns and coordinating with InfoSec on policy adherence and access controls • Coordinate with the DevOps, SW Engineering and Data Engineering team(s) on deployment processes, environment access, and infrastructure dependencies required to build and maintain AI integrations • Follow established change management procedures for all configuration changes, environment updates, and integration deployments, including documentation, testing, and appropriate approvals before pushing to production • Develop lightweight scripts, connectors, and automations to support AI-assisted workflows across teams, primarily in Python and/or JavaScript/TypeScript • Troubleshoot integration failures, data flow issues, and API connectivity problems across the AI ecosystem • Collaborate with the data engineering team on AI/KM pipeline work, including vector store ingestion, retrieval configuration, and source data connections • Contribute to technical design discussions with engineering partners, translating operational requirements into implementable solutions • Maintain technical documentation for all integrations, including architecture notes, runbooks, and dependency maps • Track and report on AI resource utilization across platforms, identifying opportunities to reduce waste and improve cost efficiency in coordination with the AI • Serve as the technical point of contact with the InfoSec team on matters related to AI system security, data handling, access controls, and compliance requirements • Support risk assessments and security reviews for new AI tools or integrations by providing accurate technical context on system behavior and data flows • Contribute to the development of technical SOPs and best-practice guidelines for AI system use, in coordination with the AI Platform Support Director and relevant stakeholders • Act as a technical resource for program and operations teams adopting AI tools, including answering implementation questions, supporting troubleshooting, and identifying configuration solutions • Participate in rollout planning for new AI capabilities, providing grounded input on technical feasibility, integration requirements, and operational readiness • Collaborate with the AI Platform Support Director on onboarding documentation and technical guidance materials for end users • Contribute to sprint and project planning with accurate estimates on technical effort and dependencies.

• Own the platform architecture and define modernization strategies for C5I mission systems • Lead the development of resilient, scalable, and secure platform environments using Linux, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Ansible, Artifactory, and related technologies • Influence program‑level decisions involving hardware/software trade‑offs, COTS selection, platform reuse, and requirements synthesis • Architect end‑to‑end DevSecOps workflows to support high‑frequency, high‑quality deployments across MDS programs • Oversee CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD) to ensure secure, automated build, test, and release processes at scale • Drive initiatives that raise DevSecOps maturity, expand Infrastructure‑as‑Code adoption, and increase automation coverage • Lead cross‑program integration efforts spanning Software, Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity, Platform and Integration & Test teams • Conduct advanced debugging and performance optimization across distributed and containerized environments • Establish platform engineering standards and best practices across multiple MDS and C5I product lines • Represent the platform engineering discipline in major design reviews, customer meetings and technical boards • Mentor and guide Platform Engineers, providing technical direction and fostering a culture of learning and collaboration • Provide leadership in Agile Scrum/Kanban environments, supporting planning, estimation and technical execution
