Title: Director Operations and Growth Technology for Impact (Remote) Location: Piscataway United States Min: $112,000 Max: 150,000.00 Job : Business Mgmt/Devt/Ops Primary Location : United States-New Jersey-Piscataway Schedule : Full-time Job Description: Job Summary The Director, Operations & Growth - Tech for Impact for Humanitarian Technologies and Climate Tech plays a pivotal role in supporting the Senior Director across two growing, mission-driven departments focused on applying technology for social impact and climate sustainability. This individual is responsible for operational execution, strategic alignment, partnership engagement, financial oversight, and contract management across programs, including HTB, IEEE SIGHT, Tech4Good, MOVE Global, and the Technology for Sustainable Climate Matrix Organization (TSCMO) and its initiatives. This individual also plays a major role in driving visibility, branding, and outreach initiatives to support impact reporting to IEEE and beyond. This role serves as a key advisor to the Senior Director, helping to translate strategic objectives into scalable programs and ensuring the efficient management of people, processes, budgets, and external relationships. Key Responsibilities - Lead operations and strategy execution across Humanitarian Technologies and Climate Tech, translating strategic goals into systems, processes, and workflows. - Manage contracts and procurement processes; coordinate with legal, finance, and external vendors to ensure compliance and timely execution. - Oversee budgeting and financial management across both portfolios, including planning, tracking, and reporting for multiple initiatives. - Develop and manage partnerships with internal IEEE units and external organizations (industry, academia, NGOs) to support programmatic growth and alignment. - Lead the development and coordination of marketing, branding, and outreach strategies for both departments, in partnership with communications teams. - Ensure consistent and compelling visibility of the departments' work across internal and external platforms (e.g., reports, social media, website, events). - Oversee the design, implementation, and reporting of impact metrics across programs to assess outcomes, demonstrate value, and inform decision-making. - Support strategic planning cycles and portfolio management, ensuring alignment with IEEE's organizational vision and values. - Supervise two or more direct reports. - Serve as a senior advisor to the Senior Director, providing analysis, strategic insight, and recommendations on key organizational decisions. Travel Information - 50% Domestic and International may include nights and weekends Education - Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferably in Engineering, Business, Marketing or International Relations Req - Master's or other advanced degree Pref Work Experience - 10-15 years Proven track record in the planning, development, incubation and deployment of strategic programs in the technology for impact space Req Skills and Requirements - Proven experience leading operational and strategic initiatives within complex organizations, including the ability to translate high-level strategic priorities into scalable programs, processes, and operational systems, while applying an entrepreneurial, start-up mindset focused on innovation, agility, and growth. - 10-15 years of progressive professional experience in operations, program management, strategy, or organizational leadership, preferably within technology, social impact, climate, international development, nonprofit, or membership-based organizations. Experience working in complex global and multi-stakeholder environments is strongly preferred. - Strong leadership and supervisory experience, including managing staff, coordinating consultants and contractors, and supporting volunteer leadership structures such as boards, committees, or working groups. Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate across both direct and indirect reporting relationships. - Demonstrated experience overseeing large-scale program portfolios, including operational planning, implementation, financial management, contract oversight, and continuous improvement of processes and systems. - Strong experience managing budgets, financial planning, and program resources, including coordination with finance, legal, and procurement teams to ensure compliance with organizational policies and effective use of resources. - Proven ability to develop and manage strategic partnerships with internal teams and external stakeholders across industry, academia, nonprofits, and international organizations. - Experience leading the promotion and visibility of programs focused on social and environmental impact, ideally within technology or innovation initiatives, through marketing, communications, storytelling, and stakeholder engagement. - Demonstrated ability to design, track, and communicate program metrics and impact data, translating results into reports, presentations, and insights that inform decision-making and demonstrate program effectiveness. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing high-level materials such as executive briefings, strategic reports, presentations, and impact summaries for diverse audiences. - Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex challenges, build consensus among diverse stakeholders, and develop practical solutions that support organizational goals. - Demonstrated flexibility, adaptability, and organizational leadership in fast-paced and evolving environments, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining operational excellence. - International Travel is required (50% of time) - #LI-REMOTE Other Requirements: As defined in IEEE Policies, individuals currently serving on an IEEE board or committee are not eligible to apply.
