Role Description The Senior Director, Strategic Sourcing – Professional Services leads the coordinated execution of strategic sourcing across enterprise professional services spend. In this role, you will report to the VP, Global Procurement and work collaboratively across our international teams and markets. Your work will ensure consistent application of sourcing strategy direction, commercial standards, and governance expectations across services sourcing leaders and categories. - Drive portfolio-level integration, aligning priorities across application development, infrastructure management, information technology outsourcing, consulting, and contingent labor. - Serve as the senior escalation point for complex sourcing matters. - Measure success through disciplined portfolio execution, improved cost and delivery outcomes, proactive risk management, and development of sourcing leadership and succession readiness. - Negotiate AI-centric services in a rapidly changing services industry. This role is open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States. You will work remotely from a home office and travel 3-4 times per year as needed for business reasons. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred. - 15+ years of leading and governing complex, global professional services sourcing and negotiations at scale (>$250M) with a track record of validated savings. - 10+ years of building and managing procurement teams with strong leadership presence and judgement. - 5+ years of managing services sourcing governance and risk management while leading leaders and driving coordinated execution. - Prior experience implementing or using procurement orchestration, esourcing, contract lifecycle management, spend analysis, and other upstream procurement technologies. - Prior experience implementing AI systems in the general business and procurement function. This is a hands-on buying role — you’ll be on the phone with suppliers, negotiating pricing and terms, placing orders, and making sure we hit our procurement targets. You’ll report directly to the VP of Finance & Business Operations and work closely with our operations, sales, and technology teams. This role is being built from the ground up — you’ll take over sourcing responsibilities currently handled by our founding team, establish new supplier relationships, and put basic procurement processes in place. You don’t need to come from the scrap metal industry. We can teach you the market. What we can’t teach is hustle, curiosity, and the ability to figure things out without a manual. • As Raw Materials & Packaging Buyer (m/f/d) you are responsible for procuring raw materials and packaging for our product portfolio, with a particular focus on international sourcing — especially from China. • You build and develop supplier relationships, manage quality and delivery processes, and bring deep market knowledge of raw materials and packaging. • You source raw materials for dietary supplements nationally and internationally — with an emphasis on suppliers from China and the Asia-Pacific region. • You identify, qualify and develop new suppliers and establish a resilient supplier network. • You maintain existing supplier relationships and negotiate prices, terms and contracts — including in English. • You procure packaging materials (e.g. bottles, cans, pouches, labels, cartons) taking into account design, quality, regulatory requirements and cost. • You coordinate sampling and approval of new packaging together with Product Development and Quality Assurance. • You monitor trends and innovations in the packaging market and contribute new ideas. • You prepare procurement proposals based on requirements analyses and ensure a stable material supply. • You oversee the entire order process including delivery dates, customs and import handling, and quality inspection at goods receipt. • You document all relevant processes and supplier information in a structured manner. • You work closely with Quality Assurance and ensure that all raw materials and packaging meet regulatory requirements. • You handle complaints and develop sustainable measures with suppliers to improve quality. • You track developments in relevant raw material and packaging markets and derive savings potential as well as recommendations for action. • You produce regular reports on costs, supplier performance and purchasing KPIs.
