Technical Consultant – Data Engineering

• You analyze processes and data structures across various medical domains • In close coordination with clinicians, you elicit and systematize clinical (documentation) requirements • You ensure the use and development of clinical information models and terminologies to achieve semantic interoperability, in close cooperation with national and international standardization initiatives • You support the translation between different data models and standards • You create data integration pipelines between proprietary systems and open data standards • You advise internal and external stakeholders on medical data structures, particularly in the context of analytics, machine learning, and decision support systems • You conduct training for internal and external users in the area of data modeling

Job Requirements

  • A completed degree, preferably with a focus on medicine, medical informatics, and/or medical information management
  • You are prepared to work intensively in interdisciplinary teams on modeling clinical data using openEHR, FHIR, and terminologies (e.g., ICD, SNOMED CT, LOINC)
  • You have solid knowledge of fundamental computer science methods (programming, scripting, databases, system administration)
  • You have experience integrating clinical data using common tools such as Apache NiFi, MapForce, Microsoft SSIS, KNIME, or similar
  • Ideally, you have practical experience with workflows and documentation in a hospital environment
  • Experience with complex clinical application systems (from a user or admin perspective) is desirable
  • You demonstrate strong self-initiative
  • You communicate confidently with different stakeholders and can explain complex topics clearly
  • You are fluent in German and English.
