The team consists of professionals with backgrounds in engineering, physics, visual effects, 3D animation, simulation analysis, software development, and manufacturing technologies. The team works on a broad range of design problems and seeks to solve the design problems by creating novel geometry and reusable procedures that lead to reliable, high performance, cost effective, and manufacturable components. The team is small so there are opportunities to meaningfully contribute in many ways. The computational designer will work with subject matter experts to understand the design problem at hand, potential geometric solutions, previous efforts, performance requirements, and other important factors to guide the design process. The computational designer will use their creativity and expertise along with the guidance from subject matter experts to advance the state of the art of computational design and drive design solutions to completion. You will be the Computational Designer Engineer for the Computational Design team. Our team creates novel geometry and reusable procedures that deliver reliable, high‑performance, cost‑effective, and manufacturable components for Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control. Basic Qualifications: · Expertise in procedural geometry modeling with SideFX Houdini (experience with other procedural modeling tools will be considered). · Strong understanding of geometry and 3D modeling fundamentals. · Proficiency with at least one scripting or programming language (Python or C++ preferred but other languages will be considered). · Undergraduate degree from an accredited college in 3D animation, visual effects, computer science, engineering, industrial design, physics, or related degree or relevant experience · Ability to obtain a US security clearance.
