Title: DevOps Engineer Location: Tucson, Arizona Job Description: Job#: 3035801 (Remote) Employment Type: Contract Role Overview We are seeking a DevOps Engineer with a primary focus on data engineering and BI development within an AWS environment. This role is pivotal in guiding the development of a data engineering workflow in a maturing environment. The ideal candidate will provide expertise on best practices using AWS native tooling, help solve complex problems, and ensure the stability and efficiency of data pipelines. Key Responsibilities - Develop and maintain data engineering and BI solutions within an AWS environment, utilizing services like AWS Glue, Lambda, Kafka, and S3. - Design, build, and manage batch and near real-time data pipelines. - Process data from AWS IoT Core, moving it through S3 buckets for reporting and analysis. - Create and manage dashboards and visualizations using Grafana and AWS QuickSight. - Work with various data types, performing aggregation and cleaning, and recommend optimal approaches for data engineering workflows. - Utilize Infrastructure as Code (IaC), primarily CloudFormation, to manage and deploy infrastructure. - Deploy code through CI/CD pipelines using GitLab. - Collaborate with the team to define solutions and provide guidance on technical challenges. Required Qualifications - Experience in Data Engineering in AWS environments (S3, Glue, Redshift, Lambda). - Hands-on experience building batch and near real-time/streaming data pipelines. - Experience with streaming frameworks or concepts (e.g., Kafka, Flink, or similar). - Experience building BI dashboards in QuickSight or a similar tool. - Working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with CloudFormation. - Experience working within CI/CD pipelines for code deployment. Preferred Qualifications - Experience with Terraform. - Experience with Grafana for visualization. Qualifications - 10 years of experience in designing, configuring, and leading the administration of large AWS or Azure environments. - At least 1 year of experience with one of the European Commission’s sovereign cloud providers: Clever Cloud, STACKIT, Scaleway, or S3NS. - At least 6 months of experience with Cycloid. - Familiarity with at least one of the following sovereign cloud environments: - Azure Sovereign Cloud. - AWS European Sovereign Cloud. - Google Sovereign Cloud. - European cloud providers and initiatives such as GAIA-X. - EU cybersecurity and compliance frameworks. Requirements - The services must be provided by a consultant holding a university degree corresponding to Level 7 of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) (typically equivalent to a Master's degree or 5 years of higher education). - Alternatively, the consultant may hold a degree corresponding to at least 3 years of higher education after secondary school (EQF Level 6, typically equivalent to a Bachelor's degree), supplemented by 2 years of relevant professional experience for each missing year of education, up to a maximum of 5 years. - Any professional experience used to compensate for missing years of education will be deducted from the candidate’s total professional experience when assessing compliance with the minimum experience requirements listed above. - Degrees obtained before the implementation of the current EQF system will be accepted, provided they have been officially recognized as equivalent by the relevant competent authority.
