Overview Role specifics: - Claims Background: Workers Compensation - Jurisdictional Experience: NV - Active Adjusters' licenses: NV - Location: This role is eligible for fully remote work How you'll make an impact - Apply claims management experience to execute decision-making to analyze claims exposure, plan the proper course of action, and appropriately resolve claims. - Interact extensively with various parties involved in the claim process to ensure effective communication and resolution. - Provide exceptional customer service to our claimants on behalf of our clients exhibiting empathy through each step of the claims process - Handle claims consistent with clients' and corporate policies, procedures, and standard methodologies in accordance with statutory, regulatory, and ethics requirements. - Document and communicate claim activity timely and efficiently, supporting the outcome of the claim file. About You As a key member of our experienced Claims Adjuster team, you will: - Investigate, evaluate, and resolve complex workers compensation claims applying your analytical skills to make informed decisions and bring claims to resolution. - Work in partnership with our clients to deliver innovative solutions and enhance the claims management process - Think critically, solve problems, plan, and prioritize tasks to optimally serve clients and claimants Required Qualifications: - High School Diploma. - Minimum of 5 years related claims experience. - Appropriately licensed and/or certified in all states in which claims are being handled. - Knowledge of accepted industry standards and practices. - Computer experience with related claims and business software. Role Description Zurich is seeking an experienced Workman’s Compensation Claims Specialist to join our team! We are specifically seeking candidates who can work from the Northeast with jurisdictions of CA, NV, AZ, and or WA. To handle Workers’ Compensation claims of moderate to high exposure and complexity within specific authority limits, to ensure that claims are handled in the most efficient, effective way while delivering a customer-centric claims service. Jurisdictional knowledge in California Workers Compensation is required. In this role you will be responsible for: - Document claims file by accurately capturing and updating claims data/information in compliance with best practices for workers compensation claims of moderate to high exposure and complexity. - Exercise judgment to determine compensability by gathering and analyzing relevant facts and utilizing applicable laws and statute. - Exercise judgment to evaluate coverage by analyzing policy documents for location and date of loss. - Work to have a timely resolution to claims by developing case strategy; developing a case evaluation; escalating issues as appropriate. - Establish timely reserves and perform ongoing review throughout claims cycle within authority limit for most probable exposure and claim outcome. - Assess exposure or range of exposure based on the case facts, jurisdictional statute, and claims experience. - Negotiate settlement of claim by establishing appropriate negotiation strategy and utilizing available tools and resources within authority limits. - Meet quality standards by following best practices. The Medical Only Claims Specialist is responsible for the investigation, evaluation, and determination of compensability for work-related injury and disease claims following established guidelines to determine benefit eligibility. The position’s objective is to provide superior service in a cost-effective manner to achieve best possible outcomes as well as proactively collaborate across the enterprise to ensure alignment of objectives and foster continuous improvement. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university is preferred. - One year of experience in the field of insurance, customer service, claims investigation, legal, rehabilitation, or medical claims processing required.
