• Full-Stack Development: Focus on our back-end and front-end codebase to develop and maintain SmithRx product features using Golang, GraphQL, SQL, React, JavaScript/TypeScript, Node, and Java. • Collaborate: Work with technical leads to understand functional and technical requirements to produce high-quality, scalable software. • Learn and Apply Best Practices: Study and apply software development best practices, design patterns, and modern tools across every project. • Extend the Platform: Leverage frameworks such as GraphQL, React, and GORM to expand the capabilities of our platform. • Cloud Infrastructure: Learn to effectively use AWS technologies at production scale, including Lambda and Fargate, to handle various job types and batch processing. • Quality Assurance: Ensure code is fully tested end-to-end, maintains high code coverage, and that all features are thoroughly documented. • Production Support: Quickly learn to troubleshoot production issues by performing triage, assessing impact, executing mitigation plans, and performing root cause analysis to prevent recurrence. • Culture of Learning: Contribute to a collaborative culture through code reviews and the exploration of new technologies. • AI Innovation: Actively seek out and share new AI tools and technologies to improve software delivery speed and quality.

• Lead the design and development of full-stack systems that power new engagement experiences such as credit health monitoring, financial wellness tools, and gamified features. • Architect and build scalable microservices and event-driven systems (e.g., Kafka-based streams) to ingest, process, and surface user credit and financial data in real time. • Partner closely with Product, Product Marketing, and Design to translate ambiguous 0→1 concepts into robust, user-facing features that drive repeat engagement and long-term customer value. • Collaborate with Legal and Compliance to ensure new features meet regulatory and data governance requirements. • Optimize and experiment on key user surfaces—supporting A/B testing, iteration, and performance improvements across authenticated and unauthenticated experiences. • Contribute to the long-term vision of Upstart’s credit health and financial wellness ecosystem, including features that help users understand and improve the factors that influence their credit and borrowing power. • Help scale production systems across the stack, improving reliability, observability, and performance as adoption grows.

• Pioneer AI-driven solutions that enhance our care navigation and PBM services, directly improving healthcare outcomes for our members • Lead rapid prototyping cycles, transforming concepts into production features within days or weeks, not months • Architect and implement full-stack solutions using our modern tech stack (Node.js, React, TypeScript, Ruby, GraphQL, Postgres) • Drive technical decisions independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business goals • Build and maintain scalable, production-grade systems that handle sensitive healthcare data with reliability and security • Establish technical standards and best practices for AI integration across the platform • Mentor team members and contribute to our engineering culture of innovation and excellence
