Responsibilities: - Contribute to the development of backend systems that power the PlayStation platform as part of a collaborative Scrum team. - Work closely with engineers from our client, and other backend, teams to support the design and implementation of platform services. - Build and maintain scalable services using Node.js and TypeScript/JavaScript. - Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, including unit tests for features and bug fixes. - Assist in troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving technical issues. - Provide feedback through RFCs, architecture reviews, and code reviews - Monitor our systems through Grafana and DataDog dashboards. - Create and maintain technical documentation for your work. - Continuously learn and grow by engaging with senior engineers, adopting best practices in software development. Required Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. - 3+ years of experience in backend or full-stack development. - Direct experience with Node.js, preferably with TypeScript. - Familiarity with Kubernetes - Knowledge of RESTful APIs and general web service principles. - Familiarity with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. - Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with an eagerness to learn and take feedback. - Comfortable working in a collaborative, agile team environment. - Knowledge of version control systems such as Git and familiarity with pull request workflows. - Interest in CI/CD pipelines and understanding the basics of automated builds or testing. - Experience monitoring performance metrics for backend services. - Coursework or exposure to software testing, data structures, or distributed systems concepts. Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
