Full-Stack Engineer

UCSF Pediatrics

• Build & Architect: Develop end-to-end features across our patient-facing apps, pediatrician dashboards, and internal clinical tools. • Own the Product: Work directly with the Head of Engineering and Product leadership to translate "what if" into production-ready code. • Lead Technical Decisions: Help define our engineering processes, from CI/CD improvements to database schema design. • Move Fast, Stay Secure: Ship high-velocity code while maintaining the rigorous security standards required for HIPAA-compliant healthcare.

Job Requirements

  • 3+ Years Experience: You are a seasoned Fullstack Engineer who has seen the "lifecycle" of multiple products.
  • Proficiency in our Stack: Proficiency in **Next.js**, **Typescript, **and **SQL**.
  • AI-Native: You already use AI to speed up your workflow and are excited to help us find new ways to leverage it.
  • Collaborative Self-Starter: You thrive in a remote environment where communication is proactive and the mission is the North Star.
  • Regulated Industry Veteran: Bonus if you have worked in **HealthTech, FinTech,** or similar spaces. Able to understand that security and privacy aren't "features"—they are the foundation.

Role Description As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you will help build the real-time Command & Control platform that enables operators to plan, coordinate, and execute missions across large distributed aircraft networks. This role blends complex frontend architecture with distributed backend systems. You’ll work on high-performance, real-time software used in operational environments where reliability and clarity matter. - Architect and build frontend systems for a real-time Command & Control platform - Develop distributed, collaborative infrastructure for managing large numbers of autonomous systems with intermittent connectivity - Design and implement new UI paradigms for visualizing telemetry, sensor data, scheduling, resource allocation, and data link management - Own full-stack features from system design through deployment - Ship early and often with strong CI/CD, QA, and DevSecOps practices Qualifications - Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience) - 4+ years building complex full-stack applications with meaningful frontend and backend ownership - Strong experience building web applications using React (or similar frameworks) - Understanding of UI/UX principles and ability to build intuitive, high-signal interfaces Requirements - Due to the nature of the work and export regulations, candidates must be U.S. citizens or otherwise authorized to work on U.S. government-controlled technologies. - Background verification required prior to employment.
