Role Description We are seeking a Middle-level Observability Developer to join the ESL Product Line of a large internal platform programme in the energy sector. You will develop Go-based modules for a multi-tenant private cloud environment, contributing to the centralised observability services that underpin the platform's telemetry, monitoring and alerting capabilities. - Developing Go-based modules for a multi-tenant environment, implementing functionalities for resource allocation, service initiation and process termination - Writing and executing functional tests to verify correctness and performance of modules - Contributing to end-to-end testing for integration and overall functionality - Engaging in debugging and troubleshooting to maintain system reliability - Participating in code reviews to maintain coding standards and overall code quality - Creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test and deployment processes Qualifications - Minimum 3 years of software development experience in Go, C/C++ or Python, with significant experience building RESTful services in distributed environments; willingness to use Go exclusively for core component development - Deep experience in operational workflows and observability across the telemetry data lifecycle in cloud environments - Strong system programming skills including low-level interactions, memory management and performance optimisation - Thorough knowledge of containerisation and Kubernetes, including CRDs, CRs, packaging and deployment customisation - Experience setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, Jenkins, Tekton, Argo Workflows and Argo CD - Experience with GitOps/IaC practices - Experience with common hyperscalers including GCP - Experience writing and maintaining unit and integration tests within automated test frameworks - Strong understanding of networking concepts including protocols, load balancing and security - Fluent English (C1 minimum) Requirements - Project experience with observability tools including Grafana, Loki, Mimir, Prometheus and OpenTelemetry Collector, from both usage and setup/configuration perspectives Benefits - Flexible working hours and the freedom to choose your own projects - Access to exciting projects in various industries - Support in advancing your career - Competitive pay - A dedicated team to help you with any questions you may have - Opportunity to work independently and utilise a strong network to achieve your professional goals
