Middle Embedded Software Developer – IoT

• Design separate components, modules, classes, and devices • Code, debug, document, and maintain portions of software and hardware • Perform various types of testing to ensure quality and reliability • Participate in estimation and planning sessions • Contribute to the development of technical project documentation and user documentation • Provide assistance to test engineers and support personnel in solving technical issues of software installation and its operation • Participate in conference calls and face-to-face meetings with the Customer and Customer’s partners • Report status and progress according to project and company requirements

Job Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional experience with C
  • Knowledge of widely used platforms (ST, SiLabs, NXP, TI), interfaces and protocols (UART, I2C, SPI, Modbus, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with RTOS and IPC approaches
  • Experience in debugging (including remote debugging) and troubleshooting solutions for embedded systems. It should include software debugging on real devices (using J-link, ST-link) and debugging issues
  • Familiarity with common embedded libraries and components, such as HALs, file systems, and networking
  • Upper-Intermediate English level or higher

Role Description The mission of the Ingestion team in the Online Database Infrastructure org is to provide a managed, reliable, performant and scalable platform for exporting data out of Airbnb’s online databases for asynchronous processing. The team currently builds and operates two managed solutions: - One for near real-time access to change logs (CDC) - Another to provide periodic mutation and full table snapshots As a member of this team, you would be working with talented engineers on cutting-edge technologies to help support Airbnb’s business. You will be the resident expert on the online data exports platform and guide and collaborate with our internal product teams to effectively use the platform. The difference you will make includes: - Building and operating a data ingestion system that enables various ways of accessing data at Airbnb, including ingesting DB data in the warehouse in various formats and frequency, and streaming change data capture (CDC) at near real-time. - Being hands-on (code, design, test) and collaborating with cross-team partners (internal customers, dependencies, and leadership) to deliver on multi-month projects in a timely fashion. - Raising operational standards by effectively and proactively identifying, debugging, and fixing operational issues. - Being part of the on-call rotation for the DBExports platform. Qualifications - 3+ years of relevant industry experience. - Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams. - Solid understanding of distributed systems fundamentals and a desire to deepen your expertise in this area. - Ability to write clean, readable, testable, and maintainable code. - Experience onboarding to and contributing to a complex codebase. - Enthusiasm for learning and growing your skills in infrastructure engineering. - Exposure to distributed caching systems, KV stores, or similar infrastructure is a plus.
