Department Overview The Command Center Software Deployment, Managed and Support Services is the team that delivers solutions to the public safety sector. We are committed to providing technology and tools which will allow customers to focus on their mission, and enable them to respond faster with smarter and safer decisions. We deploy and support products such as Emergency Call Handling, 911 Equipment, Computer Aided Dispatch, Records Management Systems, Jail Management Systems and Mobile Data Computing, among other offerings Job Description The Software Application Specialist will manage the deployment processes of Motorola’s public safety and command center software suite within complex software ecosystems for public safety agencies. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise and project management skills to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of the software applications. Key Responsibilities : Information Gathering and Discovery : Lead the efforts to conduct operational assessments, business process reviews, and other discovery events to gain a comprehensive understanding of the customer’s current business processes within Public Safety agencies. This includes interviewing subject matter experts and creating detailed documentation of findings. Analytical Evaluation and Recommendations : Evaluate existing business processes to identify opportunities for improvement. Provide tailored recommendations regarding the configuration and application of Motorola’s mission-critical software solutions to address identified needs and optimize operational efficiency. Business Process Reengineering : Facilitate business process reengineering initiatives by analyzing workflows and recommending innovative changes. Lead workshops and discussions to collaboratively develop new processes that align with organizational objectives. Training Development and Orientation : Design, develop, and deliver training curriculum, learning aids, and other instructional materials to ensure end-user engagement and buy-in for new software implementations. Guide customers through training sessions to enhance user competency and confidence. User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Facilitation : Define, coordinate, and lead User Acceptance Testing processes, ensuring that customer requirements are met and documenting results against the project’s Functional Requirements Matrix. Measure outcomes to gauge project success and areas for improvement. Preferred Qualifications: 3+ years’ experience in one of the following: Public Safety, Business Analysis, Field Service, CAD- Computer Aided Dispatch, Record Management Systems, and Jail Applications Must be a self-motivated team player able to work effectively with general guidance toward objectives. Target Base Salary Range: $75,000-$85,000 USD Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate. Basic Requirements Required Skills: High School diploma, Associates, Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Project Management, or 3 years of experience in a Public Safety Information technology environment. Must be able to obtain a background clearance as required by our government customers. Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. • Provide mentorship and professional development for early-career and lead-level engineers on the team • Develop and maintain a deep technical knowledge of the design basis for standard plant I&C systems of the BWRX-300 technology, including reactor protection systems, rod control systems, turbine control systems, reactivity monitoring systems, electric power control systems, etc. • Perform detailed gap analysis between stand plant I&C systems and site-specific requirements, including regulatory requirements, applicable codes and standards (e.g., IEC, NEC, CSA, ANSI, IEEE, NFPA, etc.), and quality standards. • Evaluate impacts of site-specific requirements on analog and digital instrumentation, including control and monitoring equipment. • Develop and propose conceptual design solutions to resolve site application challenges while maximizing design standardization where practicable. • Support integration across multiple engineering disciplines, including architectural engineering, licensing, equipment design, and safety systems. • Participate in design evolution programs that extend and improve our modularization strategies. • Contribute to an engineering team that assures proposals and early works packages for selected sites are compatible with our standard product offering. • Establish and maintain strong working relationship with internal engineering teams. • Interface with external partners, customers, and other applicable country specific regulatory agencies as required on technical issues. • Work with proposal and early works teams to build estimates, schedules, and identify risks associated with different opportunities. • Provide guidance to external partner engineering resources to ensure the quality of deliverables. • Support commercial and marketing opportunities to develop new business opportunities. • Protect the Intellectual Property rights of GVH. • Support GVH initiatives, corrective action, process improvement and simplification. • Ensure adherence to GVH’s standards for nuclear safety and compliance.
