OUTPATIENT CODER II
Froedtert
Role Description The Outpatient Coder II is responsible for accurately coding medical records for outpatient services with a moderate level of complexity. This mid-level position involves applying ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes to patient records to ensure proper billing and reimbursement. The Outpatient Coder II works with clinical staff to ensure proper documentation and compliance with all applicable regulations and standards, while also mentoring entry-level coders. Qualifications - A minimum of 1 year of HIM Coding experience in hospital outpatient coding is required. - A minimum of 1 year of HIM coding experience in an acute care environment at an academic facility is preferred. - Epic experience/3M experience is preferred. - High School diploma or equivalent is required. - Degree or certificate in an AHIMA or AAPC recognized coding program is preferred. - RHIT/RHIA/CCS/CCA/CCS-P, CPC/CIC/CPC or CPC-A required. Requirements - Pay is expected to be between: $23.20 - $34.34 (expressed as hourly). - Final compensation is based on experience and will be discussed with you by the recruiter during the interview process. Role Description The Medical Billing (Claims) Supervisor is responsible for the supervision, training, and development of a team of Medical Claims Specialists. The Medical Billing (Claims) Supervisor manages the submission of claims data, payments, and works with team members and agencies to resolve outstanding claim issues. - Be the point person for questions from your team members. Coordinate answers with agencies and/or internal departments including Operations. - Sign off/approve credit memos and employee receivables. - Assist with administrative accounting procedures per Controller/CFO. - Audit team performance, monitor team metrics, and manage claims process. - Train new employees and existing employees in department procedures and agency requirements. - Assist in developing claims procedures for all new agencies prior to transitioning to Claims Specialist. - Prepare A/R reports for your team’s agencies to monitor unpaid claims. Work with team members and agencies to collect outstanding payments. - Communicate with Claims Manager including but not limited to: training issues, agency challenges, unbilled items, and A/R issues. - Attend trainings, conferences, and staff meetings. - Participate in company continuous improvement processes. - Uphold company values and mission. - Other duties as assigned.
