Role Description The Lead Field Support Representative (FSR)-Artillery Master Gunner serves as Artillery Subject Matter Expert (SME) and is responsible for providing on-site technical support, troubleshooting, and operational assistance for Artillery systems. This position serves as the primary interface between the test team and test manager, field units, program engineering teams, and customer stakeholders to ensure effective operation, maintenance, and sustainment of the system during developmental and operational testing. The role requires proven domain expertise for Artillery systems and the ability to build and manage a team of FSR professionals supporting systems in rigorous test environments. - Serve as HDUSA SME on Artillery system requirements and operational environments to ensure relevant technical development and direct interface to the US Army customer. - Build, manage, and lead a FSR team supporting systems in US Army testing. - Provide on-site technical support for operation, maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of ground combat vehicle systems and subsystems. - Serve as the primary field liaison to customer organizations, operators, maintainers, and program management teams. - Lead field support activities, coordinating daily tasks, prioritizing customer needs, and ensuring timely response to technical issues. - Document, track, and report field incidents, performance issues, and maintenance trends; escalate issues to engineering teams as necessary. - Support the execution of modifications, upgrades, system tests, and field retrofits in accordance with program specifications. - Provide operator and maintainer training, instructional materials, and hands-on demonstrations as required. - Communicate system performance data and field observations to engineering and logistics teams to support design improvements and lifecycle support planning. - Ensure compliance with safety, maintenance, configuration management, and quality requirements during field operations. - Participate in field trials, test events, and evaluation activities in various operational environments. - Travel to customer sites, test ranges, operational units, and partner facilities as program requirements dictate. Qualifications - Associate or bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Systems, or equivalent military training/experience. - Professional experience providing technical support to U.S. artillery systems. - Strong working knowledge of ground vehicle systems (e.g., automotive, electrical, hydraulic, software-based systems, weapon subsystems). - Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues independently and communicate solutions effectively. - Experience working in field environments, including testing, operational support, or sustainment activities. - Strong documentation, communication, and customer-interaction skills. - Ability to travel frequently and work in diverse environments.
