EAC Network, a leading not-for-profit social service agency dedicated to helping over 80,000 people through 100 impactful programs across Long Island and NYC, is looking for a dedicated part time Parent Educator to join the Enhanced Long Island Parent Institute (LIPI) Program. Salary: $34/ hour Schedule: Flexible up to 19 hours per week, occasional evenings and weekends Location: 320 Carleton Ave, Central Islip NY 11722 What drives the core purpose of this job: The Parent Educator will provide home-based education to pregnant and parenting people and their family members impacted by Opioid Use Disorders. The Parent Educator will conduct workshops, classes, and individual/family sessions in EAC offices, community centers, and client homes. The Parent Educator will represent EAC NETWORK's Enhanced LIPI Program at community events when needed. What are the key responsibilities: - Provide parent training to pregnant and parenting people and their family members utilizing a combination of cognitive behavioral tools along with evidenced-based curricula. - Maintain progress notes, provide regular contact and updates with clients and supervisor. - Responsible for correspondence to confirm participation for clients. - Communicate with DSS and the courts to report on progress of clients. - Conduct parenting sessions within client homes, community centers, and virtually when needed. - Work evenings and weekends as required. - Perform all other relevant duties as determined by Supervision and EAC NETWORK Administration. What key knowledge, skills, and abilities are required to excel in this role - Bachelor's degree in social work, human or social sciences required. Master's degree in social work or mental health counseling preferred. - Must have two years of experience in Human Services or working with parents and children, including experience with families in crisis. - Must have good communication skills, both oral and written. - Must have ability to work cooperatively with Department of Social Services, substance use agencies, and domestic violence agency professionals and other professionals interfacing with program clients. - Must be proficient in computer applications or other automated systems such as spreadsheets, Microsoft Office applications, calendar, email and/or database software necessary to perform work assignments. Role Description The Revenue Management Educator is accountable for the successful development, implementation and delivery of educational and training resource materials to assist providers in coding accuracy. The Educator develops and implements strategic action, quality improvement and risk management plans. The Educator provides overall educational support and coding quality assurance activities to both internal and external stakeholders as it relates to Medicare Advantage, ACA/Exchange and Medicaid risk adjustment reimbursement methodologies and policies to ensure the accuracy and integrity of risk adjustment data submitted to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Department of Health Services (DHS). - Develops educational materials for providers in relation to diagnostic coding and risk adjustment revenue management. - Identifies inadequate or erroneous documentation and/or coding to determine process improvement and educational opportunities. - Researches appropriate material (terminology, testing, abbreviations) to accurately assess documentation. - Analyzes coding and documentation to make appropriate judgments based on coding guidelines and policies. - Monitors and audits performance in areas of compliance risk ensuring that established policies and procedures are being followed. - Identifies the root cause of any errors to determine process improvement opportunities that may result in training, reference material revisions, and process changes. - Assists in audits related to risk adjustment revenue management to address clinical issues related to documentation and coding. - Assesses health insurance products, compliance, or operational risks and develops risk management strategies to improve revenue and reduce audit risk. - Reviews, interprets and disseminates information relating to pending industry changes, trends and best practices to include CMS and DHS guidelines related to revenue management.
