Design Manager
Switch
• Support project kickoff meetings and ongoing design coordination meetings. • Manage and track RFIs, submittals, permits, and design milestones throughout the project lifecycle. • Coordinate internal teams, external consultants, and stakeholders to resolve design issues and changes. • Conduct site visits and perform quality control reviews of design deliverables. • Provide weekly status reports to leadership, including schedule, RFI, submittal, and change updates. • Support permitting processes, including plan submissions, cost forecasting, and AHJ coordination. • Set up and manage project documentation systems for internal and external stakeholders. • Facilitate cross-disciplinary design decisions and escalate issues when required. • Ensure consistent communication regarding schedule, cost, and quality performance. • Contribute to development and refinement of design and construction best practices.
Job Requirements
- Required Experience supporting hyperscale or large-scale data center design and construction projects.
- Strong understanding of design development, permitting, and implementation processes.
- Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to track and report on schedule, cost, and quality metrics.
- Experience working with AHJs and managing permitting workflows.
- Proficiency in construction management tools and document control systems.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Preferred Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
- Experience managing design consultants directly.
- Familiarity with data center infrastructure systems and mission-critical environments.
