Role Description This role can be based remotely within one of our US hiring hubs; Atlanta, California, Chicago, Austin or Dallas Texas, or located in proximity to our offices in New York or Walnut Creek. Our US Media team sits at the forefront of one of the most dynamic areas of underwriting. With one of the broadest books of media business in the market, we work with clients across the creative and digital economy, helping them navigate complex and emerging risks. - Take a holistic approach to risk, writing across multiple lines including Media Liability, Errors and Omissions, Cyber and General Liability. - Build strong broker relationships and develop new business opportunities. - Deliver profitable solutions and grow our US presence. - Take ownership of both new business and renewals, responding to broker enquiries and producing quotations within agreed timeframes. - Build and evolve a broker network through both in-person and virtual engagement. - Work closely with specialist underwriting teams to structure tailored programmes for clients. - Support cross-selling across the product suite and contribute to product development. - Deliver presentations to brokers and clients on media exposures and emerging trends. - Share expertise and support junior team members. - Contribute to wider team initiatives, helping to shape underwriting strategy and improve processes. - Travel across the US to build relationships with brokers and clients. Qualifications - Experienced Media/Professional Liability/Entertainment underwriter. - Experience in media, professional indemnity or related specialty lines. - Exposure to multiple classes of business preferred. - Comfortable analysing complex risks and making informed decisions. - Strong attention to detail and commercial awareness. - Confident and articulate with strong relationship building skills. - Able to present to a range of audiences. - Self-driven and enjoys working to targets and deadlines. - Able to manage multiple priorities. - Team player who contributes to a collaborative, high performing culture. Role Description Relying on limited experience and knowledge, this role is responsible for accomplishing the following assignments. These assignments are varied in nature. - Review issues forwarded from the Underwriting group that includes complex diagnoses and then estimate ongoing costs. Provide this information to the specific Underwriter. - Act as support for renewal underwriting. This includes, but is not limited to, assessing the severity code on ongoing claims, adjusting reserves for accuracy, evaluating new referrals if effective within sixty days of notice, and assigning recommended specifics, if requested. - Educate Underwriters on how to recognize specific diagnoses and severe types of diagnoses to ensure these are identified and properly quoted during the underwriting process.
