Role Description We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to support complex maritime projects in a remote setup, with occasional travel to Romania, approximately once per month. This role is suitable for candidates based in Romania or neighbouring countries who can work independently in an international engineering environment and are available to travel when required. In this role, you will design, review, and integrate electrical systems for maritime vessels and offshore-related applications. You will be involved across the full project lifecycle, from concept and basic design to detailed engineering support, technical documentation, testing, and commissioning coordination. Responsibilities - Define and review basic electrical system designs for maritime installations - Ensure correct integration of power generation, distribution, lighting, automation, and control systems - Prepare and review technical specifications, calculations, and design documentation - Select suitable components, equipment, and materials - Analyse technical challenges and propose reliable engineering solutions - Coordinate or supervise detailed electrical design work - Review drawings, technical data, and system documentation - Collaborate with project teams, clients, suppliers, and classification societies - Ensure compliance with client requirements, safety standards, and classification rules - Provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level Electrical Engineers - Support FAT, HAT, SAT, and commissioning activities when required Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar technical field - Senior-level experience in electrical engineering for maritime, shipbuilding, offshore, or industrial projects - Strong knowledge of electrical installations, power generation, distribution, lighting, and system integration - Experience with EPLAN is a strong advantage - Good understanding of automation, control systems, and electrical materials - Ability to technically coordinate and support engineering teams - Knowledge of classification society requirements is a plus - Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken - Ability to work independently in a remote international project environment - Availability to travel to Romania approximately once per month - Residence in Romania or a surrounding country is preferred Requirements - Remote position - Travel to Romania approximately once per month - Suitable for candidates based in Romania or neighbouring countries - International maritime engineering projects - English-speaking project environment
