Smart Contract Engineer
Polymarket
About Polymarket Polymarket is the world’s largest prediction market platform. We enable individuals to express views on real-world events by trading on outcomes across politics, economics, sports, culture, and current affairs. Built as a peer-to-peer marketplace with no centralized “house,” Polymarket aggregates diverse opinions into transparent, market-based probabilities that reflect collective expectations about the future. We're growing fast – both in terms of volume ($21B traded in 2025) and adoption as an alternative news source. Our ambition is to become a ubiquitous beacon of truth in global media and we need your help adding fuel to the fire. About the role Polymarket is looking for an experienced smart contract engineer to join our core protocol team. You’ll design, build, and ship secure, high-performance smart contracts that handle millions in daily volume and keep our peer-to-peer markets running flawlessly. You’ll have end-to-end ownership—from ideation and architecture to implementation and deployment—while collaborating closely with a world-class engineering team. Expect a mix of building new protocol functionality, improving developer tooling, and responding quickly to the evolving security landscape in DeFi. What you’ll do We’re looking for an experienced individual contributor who loves turning tricky protocol problems into clean, secure smart contracts that power billions in on-chain activity. Build secure, battle-tested smart contracts. You’ll design, implement, and deploy Solidity-based contracts that are both elegant and hardened against exploits. Level up the protocol. Contribute to protocol-level infrastructure, tooling, and new features that directly impact millions of users. Respond to real-world challenges. Investigate vulnerabilities, simulate attack scenarios, and develop effective mitigation strategies. Review and refine. Participate in rigorous code reviews to ensure quality, security, and maintainability. Stay ahead of the curve. Keep up with the latest EVM developments, tooling, and best practices—and bring that knowledge back to the team. Mentor and collaborate. Share your expertise with other engineers and work closely across product, design, and operations to bring ideas to life. What we’re looking for 4+ years of experience writing and deploying Solidity smart contracts in production. Strong understanding of the EVM, DeFi protocols, and decentralized application architecture (including decentralized exchanges – Uniswap V2 + V3, Uniswap X, dYdX v4, etc.). A security-first mindset, with an obsession for catching vulnerabilities before they’re exploited. A track record of delivering high-quality, reliable code in fast-moving environments. A passion for DeFi, Ethereum, and building at the bleeding edge of web3. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. (Plus) Experience with prediction markets. (Plus) Experience with formal verification tools or advanced Solidity security techniques. (Plus) Contributions to open-source DeFi projects. (Plus) Familiarity with multiple EVM chains and bridging solutions. Benefits Competitive salary & equity Unlimited PTO, Health, Vision, & Dental coverage 401k match Hardware setup — new MacBook Pro, big display, & accessories.
