Senior Business Objects Engineer

• Perform sustainment and system maintenance activities by troubleshooting BOBJ issues, documenting issue resolution. • Install, configure, upgrade, and patch BOBJ 4.x/BI platforms across development, testing, and production environments. • Monitor server performance and resource utilization. Collaborate with database administrators to monitor adaptive Job Servers. • Optimize server performance, tune CMS databases, and manage data loads to improve reporting speed. • Migrate reports and objects using Promotion Management (LCM) and manage version control. • Develop and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and contingency plans for the BI environment. • Manage user access, security groups and permissions within the Central Management Console (CMC). • Perform database migrations, upgrades, and data extraction. • Participate in on call support rotation. • Build and maintain comprehensive documentation for problem resolution actions, root cause, procedures, etc. • Drive continual improvement in systems operations through collaboration with DBA, OS, and Cloud Support teams • Actively engage in root cause analysis, in collaboration with other delivery team members.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Sciences, or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of working experience with SAP Business Objects Administration. Relevant certifications preferred.
- Proficiency in Windows/Linux server environments
- Experience with CMS database maintenance (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase).
- Proficiency in setting up SAP BO security models (Active Directory, LDAP integration).
- 5+ years in a tier-3 production support position dealing with other functional and technology teams
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
