Role Description The Domestic Violence (DV) Hotline Specialist is an essential remote position covering the 24-hour domestic and sexual violence hotline for Fairfax County, through Shelter House. The Hotline Specialist will: - Answer the crisis line and assess callers for shelter entry eligibility. - Provide resources, information, and safety planning, regardless of shelter entry. - Listen empathetically and assess imminent danger of lethality due to domestic violence. - Provide trauma-informed crisis intervention, advocacy, support, and safety planning. - Coordinate with shelter staff and management for smooth transitions for callers. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in human services, Social Work, or related field, or a combination of education and experience. - 2+ years' experience working with victims of DV/SV or Human Trafficking. - Knowledge in counseling techniques and experience in trauma-informed domestic and sexual violence. - Strong written and oral communication skills. - Active listening skills. - Computer skills – including Word, Excel, email, and the internet. - Ability to maintain professional ethics and client confidentiality. - Strong organizational and time management skills. - Ability to prioritize competing priorities and make sound judgments. - Ability to complete tasks while navigating frequent interruptions. Requirements - Must be a resident of NOVA (Northern Virginia). - Reliable and stable internet connection. - Quiet workspace. - Consistent showing up to shifts on time and communicating in advance if unable to cover any agreed-upon shift. - Ability to sit or stand for long periods. - Ability to lift items weighing 10-20 pounds. Role Description The REO Title team at Solidifi performs a variety of functions crucial to the initial phase of real estate transactions that involve the sale of real estate owned (“REO”) properties. The core responsibilities of the REO Title Clearance team are to issue a preliminary title commitment, which is eventually used to issue a title insurance policy upon the closing of the transaction under specific conditions and requirements, and to review foreclosures to ensure they are properly completed by the foreclosure attorneys hired by the client. The REO Title Specialist inspects recorded legal documents and evaluates the chain of title, lien position, exceptions, restrictions, and performs preliminary lien clearance, including foreclosure clearance, before delivering a title package to the client. Other documents which may need to be created and/or reviewed for accuracy include: - Municipal lien searches - Title grading sheets - Copies of supporting search documents - Documents specific to the foreclosure such as state-required affidavits and proof of notice of foreclosure documents Responsibilities include: - Analyze recorded documents to correctly certify the following: - Analyze complex title issues - Correct chain of title and accurate vesting - The correct legal description of the property in question - Any restrictions against the property in question - Any claims/liens (ex. Mortgages, judgments, tax assessments) - Identify any potential issues/problems with the recorded documents which would prevent a clean title commitment to be issued. - Identify any potential issues/problems with the foreclosure which would prevent a proper conveyance to the client once the foreclosure is complete. - Deliver title packages within expected turn times to the client’s specific web portal. - Complete and maintain tasking on each client’s specific web portal system. - Follow up on title issues which arise in files to ensure issues are being resolved in a timely manner. - Work as a team player with fellow employees to determine a solution and/or alert the appropriate parties to issues affecting the title commitment and/or documents prepared by the department.
