Summary Manager Information Technology | Palo Verde Digital Transformation This role plays a key leadership part in advancing digital transformation at Palo Verde, helping modernize how technology supports safe, reliable, and efficient operations. As a Manager of Information Technology, you’ll guide a team that designs and delivers digital solutions that improve how work gets done, how data is used, and how systems perform. Your leadership directly supports APS’s mission by enabling smarter decision‑making, strengthening reliability, and ensuring technology investments align with enterprise standards that protect our people, systems, and communities. What Your Day Would Be Like: - Lead, coach, and develop a technology team delivering digital solutions that improve operational efficiency, reliability, and data‑driven decision making at Palo Verde. - Partner closely with business units to identify priorities, translate needs into digital capabilities, and deliver solutions that create real operational value. - Guide the design and implementation of new technologies while ensuring seamless integration with existing Palo Verde systems. - Ensure digital initiatives align with enterprise transformation goals, cybersecurity expectations, and compliance requirements. - Manage financial planning, vendor coordination, and resource allocation to deliver results responsibly and efficiently. - Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and high customer satisfaction across the team. Minimum Requirements Manager Information Technology | Palo Verde Digital Transformation - BS in Computer Science, Business or related degree or equivalent work experience. - PLUS eight to ten (8-10) years progressively responsible related experience in area/s of assignment is required to obtain an advanced understanding of information and/or communication systems, operating systems, network communications, equipment and infrastructure. - AND three (3+) years experience working at a Nuclear Generating Station is preferred. - Demonstrated leadership skills required. - Previous supervisory experience preferred. - Demonstrated high quality oral, written and presentation communication skills, high quality interpersonal and people management skills, and demonstrated experience in project management. - Extensive experience in the development, integration, and support of information and communication systems applications, distributed and mainframe environments, network architecture and sub-systems, distributed and mainframe server architectures cross platform interfaces. - Extensive experience in information systems methodologies, systems guidelines & architectures, and technologies. Nuclear requirement: Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member. This is a condition of employment at PVNGS. Roles and Responsibilities defined in Policy 1503 and implementing policy guide are applicable to all PVNGS employees. Major Accountabilities 1) Leads the planning, prioritization, and execution of Palo Verde Digital Transformation initiatives aligned to APS and Palo Verde strategic objectives. 2) Translates Palo Verde's business needs into technology-enabled solutions, including AI/ML, data analytics, and automation capabilities. 3) Oversee the design, development, and deployment of Palo Verde AI/ML, digital experience, business intelligence, and advanced analytics solutions 4) Oversee Palo Verde data architecture, integration, and pipeline development in coordination with data engineering teams 5) Lead and develop a cross-functional Palo Verde Digital Transformation team 6) Manage relationships with technology vendors, consultants, solution providers and Nuclear industry supporting Palo Verde Digital Transformation initiatives 7) Ensures departmental costs remain within approved budget. Continually improves department work processes. 8) Develops unit level strategic plans that support corporate and I/S plans. Supports client planning process and prioritization for systems technology implementation. Assigns, directs, facilitates, reviews and approves unit work activities. Ensure effectiveness and productivity of the work unit. 9) Maintains knowledge and understanding of business processes. Manages, negotiates, and meets client's expectations. Implements performance management programs. Spends time with staff on performance focusing. Develops and retains a highly skilled technical team including a supervisory backup. Actively seeks to improve own skills and knowledge to apply to current and emerging business and technical environment. Ensures appropriate staffing levels and that staff has technical skills and business skills to support objectives of the organization. 10) Acts to produce effective teams. Ensures the development of a cooperative culture that supports team accomplishments. 11) In a timely manner, communicates issues openly and honestly with staff, peers, management and customers.
