Engineering Engagement Manager

Role Description The Engineering Engagement Manager is a delivery and project leadership role responsible for driving complex, cross-functional initiatives focused on environmentally responsible product design and service delivery excellence. This role combines deep technical program management with strong client and stakeholder engagement, ensuring successful execution of projects that align with environmental compliance, smarter chemistry initiatives, and business outcomes. The individual will lead end-to-end program delivery, manage customer expectations, and collaborate across engineering, operations, suppliers, and business stakeholders to deliver innovative, compliant, and sustainable solutions. This position requires strong analytical capabilities, leadership presence, and the ability to translate technical complexity into clear business value. Additionally, this individual will establish and track service level objectives (SLOs) across programs to ensure consistent performance, transparency, and alignment to defined success metrics. Key Responsibilities - Lead multiple projects, programs, or initiatives with full ownership of timelines, deliverables, and outcomes. - Define project objectives, scope, schedules, and success metrics; ensure alignment with business goals. - Drive execution of environmental compliance programs, including restricted substances and smarter chemistry initiatives. - Manage complex dependencies and ensure timely delivery in fast-paced, schedule-driven environments. - Develop and maintain project frameworks, workflows, and governance models to support scalable delivery. - Serve as the primary point of accountability for customer expectations, satisfaction, and engagement success. - Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, clients, and external partners. - Establish communication plans and provide clear, consistent updates on project status, risks, and opportunities. - Represent programs in leadership forums with concise, actionable insights. - Conduct regular health checks and ensure alignment to defined business value and performance metrics. - Partner with engineering, toxicology, and environmental experts to drive safer material selection and product design. - Track and manage material and chemical usage, supporting phase-out programs and identifying sustainable alternatives. - Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, restricted substances policies, and industry standards. - Engage deeply in technical discussions and translate findings into actionable insights for stakeholders. - Analyze large datasets (e.g., BOM, compliance, product lifecycle data) to inform decisions and report outcomes. - Develop and track key performance indicators tied to delivery success and business impact. - Quantify and communicate the business value of project outcomes throughout the engagement. - Proactively identify risks, track mitigation plans, and ensure transparency across stakeholders. - Lead cross-functional and project teams, fostering collaboration and accountability. - Mentor and develop team members while promoting a high-performance, inclusive culture. - Demonstrate strong situational leadership, adapting approach based on team and stakeholder needs. - Drive continuous improvement and innovation in processes, tools, and delivery models. - Translate business strategies into actionable project plans and measurable goals. - Collaborate with leadership on account or program strategy, planning, and execution. - Anticipate future needs, industry trends, and opportunities for innovation. - Drive operational excellence through disciplined program management and continuous optimization. Qualifications - 5–7+ years of experience in program/project management, engineering, or professional services delivery. - Bachelor’s degree in engineering, chemistry, materials science, or related discipline (or equivalent experience). - Proven experience managing complex, cross-functional programs with multiple dependencies. - Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills. - Experience working in fast-paced, technical environments with high expectations. - Proficiency in macOS and Apple productivity applications (Keynote, Numbers, Pages). - Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis, reporting, and modeling. Preferred Qualifications - Experience in consumer electronics, environmental compliance, or sustainable product development. - Familiarity with BOM management, PLM systems (e.g., Agile), and compliance tracking tools. - Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and/or project management certifications (PMP, Agile, ITIL). - Ability to work with technical experts and effectively communicate complex concepts to nontechnical audiences. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with comfort handling large datasets. - Proficiency in PowerPoint (or equivalent presentation tools such as Keynote). - Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Los Angeles, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $80,000.00 - $120,000.00/yr. We reserve the right to pay above or below the posted wage based on factors unrelated to sex, race, or any other protected classification.
