Role Description As an Engineer at StackAdapt, you will be directly involved in the development of our advertising platform, producing production-level code that will have a direct impact on the success of our product. You will work with large data sets and have exposure to modern tech stacks around GoLang, Ruby on Rails, React, GraphQL and more. About the Team The Developer Ecosystem team enables software builders to leverage StackAdapt’s proprietary platform through APIs and MCPs. We maintain the GraphQL Public API and peripheral services, the MCP servers and tools which power our AI system (Ivy), as well as external customers’ agents. We are at the forefront of innovation in the engineering department, working cross-functionally with Data Science, Business Intelligence, and various teams to build powerful AI and automation solutions. • Operate and develop the Elastic Build service, our Kubernetes + GitHub + Cloud Run pipeline that converts package specifications into real downloadable artifacts, improving reliability, performance, resource usage, and multi-architecture support. • Maintain and improve Melange, our package build tool, with a focus on usability, testing, patch management, and observability. Melange is largely feature-complete; the work here is hardening and instrumentation, not feature addition. • Design and build automation for rebuild and review workflows — keeping a human in the approval chain while removing every step that can be automated. Support shared library transitions using build-time and runtime dependency analysis. • Build monitoring, dashboards, and alerting. Create automated responses to common failure modes so human attention is reserved for novel problems. • Define and deliver a roadmap for build and update services within the OS team. • Document systems thoroughly and reduce single points of knowledge. • Contribute to distro-level package updates and help keep Chainguard OS up-to-date and secure.

• Build and maintain across the stack: Contribute to backend services, APIs, data pipelines, and where needed, frontend interfaces, embracing Spotify's infrastructure patterns and continuing making WhoSampled the industry-leader in showcasing the story behind the music. • Improve metadata matching: Evolve how WhoSampled's database is matched to Spotify's catalog, moving beyond heuristics toward ML-assisted approaches, including entity resolution and LLM-powered disambiguation. Better matching means more of WhoSampled's archive surfaces meaningfully within Spotify. • Drive infrastructure modernisation: Lead meaningful infrastructure work that brings WhoSampled onto more robust, scalable foundations, working closely with Spotify's platform and security stakeholders. • Take end-to-end ownership: Design, build, ship, and operate. You're accountable for the reliability and performance of the systems you own, and proactive about improving them. • Be AI-forward: Bring AI tooling into your engineering practice; whether for data quality, matching, operational automation, or developer productivity.
