• Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 codes to outpatient visit types • Assign Evaluation and Management codes for physician encounters • Review the medical record thoroughly and code appropriate diagnoses, procedures, and evaluation and management services • Collaborate with Patient Accounting, Registration, case managers, and other clinical areas to provide coding reimbursement expertise • Interpret health record documentation using knowledge of anatomy, physiology, clinical disease process, pharmacology, and medical terminology to report appropriate diagnoses and/or procedures • Follow ICD-10-CM Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting and maintain a minimum of 95% coding accuracy • Resolve NCCI, NCD/LCD or other outpatient edit claim failures as assigned • Meet established minimum coding productivity and quality standards for each outpatient encounter type

Role Description North State Bank has an exciting opportunity for an SBA Credit Analyst. The SBA Credit Analyst assists the Credit Administration Department in collecting and disseminating Small Business Loan applications to determine applicants' ability to meet bank credit policy and SBA guidelines, as well as other financial and regulatory requirements. Additionally, supports Portfolio Managers and Credit Administration with coordinating and completing annual reviews and other projects, as needed. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: - Assist underwriters and business development officers to identify, gather, and analyze relevant information, complete file set up, establish viability of credit requests and review loan structures to ensure adherence with credit policy and SBA SOP’s, when appropriate. - Work daily in the Bank’s LMS, nCino, to ensure accurate data entry, proper document management, and timely workflow processes are met. - Pull and review third party reports, which generally include credit reports, LexisNexis reports, SAM’s, OFAC, CAIVRS, and tax transcripts, and report any concerns to management in a timely manner. - Complete detailed spreads for financial analysis of borrowers, affiliated businesses, corporate and personal guarantors. - Assist in the preparation of the credit analysis and a detailed write up for credit approval. - Communicate with business development officers, the SBA operations team, senior management, and borrowers as needed throughout the credit process. - Maintain broad knowledge of SBA/USDA SOP and bank policy guidelines. - Provide the highest level of customer service to borrowers, Business Development Officers, and co-workers. - Collaborate with Portfolio Managers and Credit Administration Officers to complete annual portfolio reviews. - Analyze business and global cash flow for existing SBA borrowers and guarantors to identify their financial condition, profitability, repayment ability, operating trends, and determine if there are any financial indicators that point to current or potential stress within the businesses or guarantor’s financial situation. - Communicate with borrowers to obtain missing and updated financials to ensure that files are up-to-date and complete. - Assist with special projects as needed. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in finance, business management or other related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. - One to three years of experience in financial analysis, credit analysis, loan management within community bank or related financial service company, or relevant education. - Previous experience with an SBA institution strongly preferred. - Working knowledge of government lending regulations and guidelines. - Possess strong organizational skills, acute attention to details, and tactfulness. - Good written, verbal, interpersonal skills with internal and external customers.
