Job Description

Senior Software Engineer

Conexa Saúde

• Act across Support N1, Implementation, N2 and N3 squads, providing technical solutions for escalated issues and unblocking deliveries that require engineering expertise. • Be part of the Incident Management team, participating in responses to critical incidents, leading investigations, mitigating impact and contributing to post-mortems and action plans. • Ensure high availability and high performance of the platform by identifying bottlenecks, proposing structural improvements and implementing hardening, observability and resilience measures. • Investigate and resolve complex problems with little initial context, proactively gathering necessary information (logs, metrics, code, stakeholders) to reach root cause. • Develop fixes, improvements and new features across different platform systems, predominantly backend, but also working on frontend when necessary to deliver end-to-end solutions. • Work in a stack-agnostic way, quickly adapting to the language, framework or technology required by each squad/context in which you operate. • Implement and evolve integrations between internal and external services (APIs, microservices, distributed systems), paying attention to contracts, idempotency and fault tolerance. • Write clean, testable and efficient code, following engineering best practices and area-defined standards, even when working on codebases that are not your usual ones. • Create and run automated and unit tests, especially for incident fixes, to prevent regressions and increase platform reliability. • Monitor application behavior in production (dashboards, alerts, tracing), anticipating problems before they impact the end customer. • Document flows, architectures, runbooks and incident learnings, strengthening support squads’ autonomy and knowledge sharing. • Participate in code reviews and ceremonies with the squads you are assigned to, contributing a proactive, solution-oriented attitude focused on unblocking the team.

Job Requirements

  • Solid experience as a Software Engineer, with a backend emphasis and the ability to work on frontend when necessary to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Polyglot profile: comfortable learning and developing in different languages and frameworks depending on the squad context, without attachment to a specific stack.
  • Strong troubleshooting and production-problem investigation skills, able to reach root cause even with little initial context.
  • Proactive attitude to gather necessary information (logs, metrics, code, stakeholders) and autonomy to lead end-to-end resolution.
  • Experience with distributed systems, microservices and REST APIs, understanding common failure modes (timeouts, retries, idempotency, consistency).
  • Hands-on knowledge of relational and non-relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, etc.), including query analysis and optimization.
  • Experience with observability and monitoring (logs, metrics, tracing) — tools such as Datadog, New Relic, Grafana, Sentry, OpenSearch or equivalents.
  • Familiarity with modern engineering practices: CI/CD, automated testing, code review and version control (Git).
  • Previous experience supporting production, incident management or maintenance/sustainment squads.
  • Clear technical communication skills for different audiences: engineering, support, product and business stakeholders, especially during incidents.
  • Ownership mindset, focus on quality and ability to prioritize deliveries in environments with multiple simultaneous fronts.

Benefits

  • CAJU card, credit of R$ 1,059.00 per month distributed across categories: Meals, Groceries, Mobility, Health, Home Office, Culture and Education;
  • AMIL S450 – APTO Health Plan, with 30% copay on consultations and exams and 40% on PS; extendable to legal dependents (spouses and/or children up to 24 years). Dependent fees are deducted from payroll. Cost per dependent: R$ 506.86 per person + copay.
  • Omni Saúde: For purchasing medications with a medical prescription. Monthly balance of R$ 100.00 provided to the employee, exclusively for buying medications prescribed by our Conexa Hospital.
  • Free access to Conexa and Zenklub platforms with online consultations to support your mental and physical health;
  • Childcare allowance according to the regional collective agreement and extended Maternity/Paternity Leave options for our team: we offer the option to extend maternity leave to 6 months. For fathers, paternity leave is 30 days.
  • SULAMERICA Life Insurance: We want you to feel secure knowing you and your loved ones are protected, no matter what happens.
  • Day off during your birthday month: Take a day off in your birthday month to celebrate.
  • Totalpass and Wellhub: To support your fitness goals.
  • Course discounts: For your personal and professional development, Conexa offers educational partnerships with various institutions.
  • SESC benefit: Access to sports, culture, leisure, courses and more with special conditions for employees and dependents.
  • Transportation voucher: 6% salary deduction, if chosen.
