Role Description This is a work from home opportunity completing remote order verification for health care facilities throughout the New England area, Ohio and Pennsylvania. Pharmacists will utilize their clinical skills to remotely service our clients’ patients and provide a top-notch continuity of care. - Part Time, Work From Home, Remote Order Entry Staff Pharmacist II Position. 7on/7off Thursday - Wednesday. - Schedule: 6p - 1030p EST - Responsibilities include: - Remote order entry and CPOE order evaluation and verification - Physician and nursing consultations - Clinical medication dosing services - Review and monitoring of profiles and lab values for therapeutic outcomes - Coordinates access to medications according to facility policy and procedures, and in compliance with state and federal laws and regulations. Qualifications - Must be licensed in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, or Ohio to apply. - Must be willing to obtain additional licenses in Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont within 12 months of start date. - Bachelors degree in pharmacy required, PharmD preferred - 2-4 years of clinical hospital inpatient experience preferred. - Computer savvy, willing to learn and perform successful operation of multiple pharmacy information systems. - Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays. - Excellent communication skills to enable successful interactions with other healthcare professionals to facilitate the delivery of competent clinical care. - Ability to establish and maintain a home work space in compliance with Cardinal standards as this is a work from home position. • Manage inbound calls and make outbound calls related to setting up orders, working with medical providers, patients, and other pharmacy staff to ensure patients receive their medication in a timely manner • Input patient data and prescription information into pharmacy information management system • Assist the Pharmacist in filling prescription orders, as permitted by the State Boards of Pharmacy • As permitted by applicable state laws, take verbal prescription orders from licensed prescribers and transfer prescriptions between dispensing pharmacies • Review patient insurance coverage status and adjudicate claims for patient orders • Enter prescriptions in pharmacy system • Maintain knowledge of and abide by applicable pharmacy laws and regulations • Communicate with all customers (patients, clinics, caregivers, physicians) in a pleasant and professional manner
• Complete Clinical Reviews and provide a determination of Medicare-Medicaid Coverage Determination/Redetermination • Responsible for support and input to clinical programs • Continually monitor the quality and efficiency of the Prior Authorization process • Provide input to clinical content of new programs • Complete all annual NCQA, Aetna required and Quarterly IRR training requirements • Responsible for supporting / providing clinical expertise related to formulary decisions • Assist Member Services and other internal customers in responding to pharmacy-related inquiries • Maintain open lines of communication with other functional areas/departments • Stay current with clinical literature and guidelines
