Principal UX Designer
Slate Auto
Role Description Slate is looking for an energetic, organized, experienced Principal UX Designer to join our growing team. The Principal UX Designer will help our customers engage with our vehicle program through clarity of concepts and workflow. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading impactful UX projects in disruptive, ambiguous problem spaces. They will be a part of the team responsible for defining how people interact with Slate products. The responsibilities of the Principal UX Designer include but are not limited to the following: - Participate in UX strategy, planning, and reviews. - Promote, and advise stakeholders on, the user-centric approach and apply UX methodologies to validate and inform design decisions. - Build relationships with key partners in Brand, Design and HMI, Engineering and Software teams. - Help balance strategic and tactical initiatives, to help ensure the team is solving the most critical user needs. - Expertly articulate insights and actionable UX recommendations to executive level stakeholders. Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree in User Experience Design, HMI, communications, or related UX field. - 10+ years professional work experience leading high impact UX projects. - Experienced in interface design and evaluation; thorough knowledge and experience of a range of UX approaches and methodologies. - Passion for emerging technologies, new interaction models, apps, and interactive interfaces. - Proven strategic thinker and collaborator who flourishes in an ambiguous problem space. - Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills. - Proficient in both writing and speaking the English language. - Proficient with UX design tools such as Figma. - Deep understanding of accessibility and inclusivity in UX. Requirements - Master’s Degree in User Experience Design, HMI, communications, or related UX field (preferred). - Experience in automotive or consumer electronics industries (preferred). - Experience working within an agile development process (preferred).
