Title: Claims Resolution Representative Location: Southfield United States Job Description: What you'll do… The Claims Resolution Representatives primary role is to resolve high volumes of aging insurance claims with payers and providers by calling insurance companies or by utilizing their websites when available. This person should be detail oriented and can communicate effectively with insurance companies. While it is important to work well with their team it is equally important that they are self-motivated. This position is located at our corporate office in Southfield, MI and has a hybrid schedule of Monday, Tuesday, Thursday in office and Wednesday/Friday remote. Responsibilities - Lead the submission of provider enrollment applications for assigned states with complex regulations or high provider volume. - Serve as the primary subject matter expert for credentialing and enrollment requirements in assigned state(s). - Maintain current knowledge of both In-network and out-of-network enrollment processes. - Partner with Account Coordinators to validate provider data and documentation prior to initiating enrollment applications. - Establish and maintain productive working relationships with payor representatives in assigned states to support clear communication and timely issue resolution. - Prepare and submit provider enrollment documentation through appropriate channels, including payor portals and mailed submissions. - Track application status and perform proactive follow-ups to drive timely approvals. - Manage re-credentialing submissions and communicate upcoming client requirements to Account Management. - Complete quarterly and other required payor attestations to ensure ongoing compliance. - Provide daily status reports to Credentialing Coordinator, including updates for personal workload and any Credentialing Representative I staff supporting assigned states. - Maintain thorough documentation of all submissions, follow-ups, and payor correspondence within internal tracking systems. Role Description The Department of Neurosurgery in the UNM School of Medicine plays a critical role in improving the health of all New Mexicans. Our department is the Southwestern hub for advanced neurological diagnosis and patient care. We seek a dynamic individual to join our team as a Medical Practice Specialist and be a part of our important mission and exciting growth. This position will play an important role in advising and assisting faculty providers with strategic billing and documentation issues including group level and individual coding to enhance the financial well-being of the department. This position will act as a strategic partner with the Chair of Neurosurgery and the Department Administrator to advance the strategic plans and goals of Neurosurgery. The Department of Neurosurgery values professional development and continuing education and in this spirit will support this position obtaining professional certification(s) such as the American College of Medical Practice Executive (ACMPE) or a Professional Coding Certification such as the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC). Duties for this position include but are not limited to: - Oversee and evaluate the department’s productivity and billing operations, while working with the department administration, the department leadership, UNMMG and UH to ensure compliance with appropriate procedures and applicable laws, regulations and policies. - Train and update providers on proper billing and coding practices. - Create and distribute ad hoc reports on practice and compliance issues on a weekly/monthly basis as required. - Act as department intermediary between UNMMG and department leadership and oversee the department contracting of our Professional Service Agreements. - Collect and analyze data and report findings. - Improve processes and training materials related to the clinical revenue and billing practices. Qualifications - High school diploma or GED; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. - Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
