Role Description As a "Cloud Architect" you understand the latest developments of physical or virtual networks in cloud and container technology. You drive the further development of the network in our OpenStack-based cloud platform in the interest of customers and the OpenSource community. - You will be involved in the design, operation and further development of OpenStack-based services on the T Cloud Public Platform in the network area in close contact with the manufacturers. - You plan and drive automation using common automation frameworks. - You further develop the physical and virtual network architecture, taking IT security aspects into account. - You will work together with specialists from our team and other Deutsche Telekom teams on the technology topics of public cloud, open source. - You will prepare materials for presentations and advise management on technology decisions. - As a senior architect you will work in an agile based squad and supporting other colleagues is part of the journey. You want: - Improve the platform architecture while taking IT security seriously. - Design and develop innovative platform and software-as-a-service features. - Be a trusted advisor for OpenStack-based public cloud technology. - Hands-on work on a console to back your architectural work. - Consistently automate with common automation frameworks. - Work in a team of specialists where everyone helps each other in an open and trusting manner. Qualifications - Completed studies in a technical, engineering or scientific subject or comparable professional training. - 5-7 years of professional experience in IT with a focus on modern cloud technologies. - Very good knowledge of software-, cloud- and container-architectures. - Deep experience in infrastructure automation. - In-depth knowledge of Linux, system tools and network related services. - Strong customer orientation. - Knowledge of agile development processes. - Mentoring and presentation skills. - Ability to assess technical solutions and to come up with creative approaches. - OpenStack and programming experience in OpenSource projects are a plus. - Fluency in written and spoken English. - You will be working in the European Union to meet our clients' data security and privacy requirements. Minimum Qualifications: - Requires a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience) in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field and 8 or more years of cloud engineering experience with platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. In lieu of Bachelor’s degree, Associate degree +2 years relevant experience, or 4 years relevant experience is acceptable. - Possesses excellent understanding of cloud infrastructure components, scripting and automation (Python, PowerShell, Bash), and IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation). - Requires strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. - Possess relevant certifications (Preferred: VCP-Cloud Management and Automation (VCP-CMA), VCP-DCV.
