Role description: Arcadis is seeking an experienced electrical engineer to support the Design and Engineering team within the Places global business area. This position’s geographical location is negotiable depending upon the candidate. You must have broad capabilities. You will lead the electrical discipline of multiple concurrent projects through pursuit, proposal, design, and construction phases. You’ll serve as the engineer of record, collaborating with project teams, junior and senior engineers, project managers, and clients on a diverse range of projects, including the design of manufacturing facilities, lift stations, pump stations, treatment plants, fuel systems, electric vehicle charging stations, transportation infrastructure, environmental remediation systems, data centers, and commercial and retail buildings. Role accountabilities: - Lead design teams to develop construction-ready drawing packages with inter-discipline coordination. - Develop strong industry relationships with other design professionals. - Travel to project sites for engineering site surveys, data collection for power system studies, electrical system audits and collaboration with clients’ team members. - Knowledge of industry standards, building codes, and safety standards such as NFPA, NEC, NETA, ANSI, IEEE, UL, UFC, UBC as well as international standards such as IEC, CE, EN. - Fluency in design and modeling software (AutoCAD, Revit, Elum Tools, BIM360, SKM, Etap, EDSA, Easy Power). - Inter-discipline knowledge of facility systems. - Competent analytical and troubleshooting skills. - Experience developing solutions to complex projects. - Perform various system studies (arc flash, load, short circuit, coordination) - Support proposal efforts to win design work. - Work with designers to develop sealed drawings of your designs. - Provide mentoring to junior staff. Qualifications & Experience: - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in an appropriate area of engineering, - Hold Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification and actively working towards Professional Engineer (PE) Certification - May also be working towards advanced degree (M.Eng., MS, MBA, etc.), - 4 or more years’ relevant experience in engineering, - Detailed knowledge of relevant national standards and codes of practice, - OSHA training preferred (in some Business Lines this will be required)" Why Arcadis? • Team and client management • Leading and managing a small, skilled team in power systems modeling and analytics for utility clients • Mentoring and training less experienced engineers in power engineering theories and principles • Working toward continuous improvement of job-related engineering, technical and professional knowledge and skills, and overall individual and team performance • Project management tasks such as forecasting, tracking hours, budgeting, milestones, scheduling meetings, delegating tasks, etc • Interact with prospective clients to demonstrate ICF’s expertise and attract new business • Develop scopes of work, project timelines, and budget estimates • Participate in weekly meetings with clients to deliver project status updates • Create, revise, and maintain transmission short circuit models in programs like CAPE and ASPEN • Create, revise, and maintain transmission power flow models in programs like PSSE and PSCAD • Create, revise, and maintain distribution system modeling in programs like CYME, Synergi, and WindMil • Perform Arc Flash analysis of facilities to calculate hazard ratings • Analyze transmission line modeling based on LiDAR and 3D models in programs like PLS-CADD • Perform voltage imbalance analysis in programs like PSCAD • Calculate thermal ampacity ratings for conductors and equipment according to standards such as FAC-008, FERC-881, and relevant IEEE standards • Write thorough technical reports summarizing findings of analyses • Develop automation scripts to improve the efficiency and accuracy of any and all of the above tasks, using languages such as Python, SQL, and VBA
