Staff iOS Engineer
WeightWatchers
• Build and evolve key native features of the WeightWatchers iOS app that support members in their health journeys: food tracking, activity logging, weight trends, and our new AI-driven health insights. • Deliver premium UI/UX using modern Apple frameworks to ensure the app feels fast, fluid, and intuitive. • Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Data, and Behavioral Science teams to deliver features that support daily habit formation and medical weight-loss journeys (including our GLP-1 Med+ initiatives). • Own the implementation of upcoming flagship initiatives, including Lock Screen Widgets, Live Activities, and health data integrations. • Shape the architectural decisions and technical standards for our iOS application, ensuring a robust, modular, and testable codebase. • Operate with high autonomy and influence: proactively question assumptions, bring new ideas, and champion product quality and performance.
Job Requirements
- 12-15+ years of experience in professional iOS development
- Expertise in Swift and modern Apple frameworks (SwiftUI, Core Data, etc.)
- Deep knowledge of the iOS SDK, app lifecycle, and memory management.
- Familiarity with native tooling, including XCTest for unit/UI testing, CI/CD pipelines (Fastlane/GitHub Actions), and feature flagging.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to mentor junior engineers while articulating technical decisions.

What You'll Do Design, develop, and sustain high-performance iOS applications using Swift, SwiftUI, and Objective-C. Lead architectural modernization and modularization to improve scalability and cross-platform reuse. Define and own the entire lifecycle of your systems: feature ideation, API design, instrumentation, deployment (CI/CD), live-traffic monitoring, unit/UI/e2e testing, user telemetry & data analysis, experiment design (A/B tests), and continuous iteration. Influence and evolve our architecture: propose and lead initiatives to decompose monoliths, build shared libraries and frameworks, improve modularization, enable reuse across iOS, Android, Web; evaluate new Apple platform capabilities (e.g., new OS releases, device types, form factors, architectures) and lead their adoption. Apply AI-driven tools and automation frameworks to speed up development, code analysis, testing, and reliability. Leverage intelligent telemetry, analytics, and optimization pipelines to improve app performance and user experience. Define observability standards, telemetry pipelines, and fault-tolerance strategies for production-grade systems.
