Senior Engineer – Critical Environments
TD
• Provides deep technical leadership, domain specialization and expertise in Critical Environments engineering and operations • Sets direction in developing and implementing solutions to address emerging business needs and strategies • Advances the operation and overall design architecture and technology capabilities of critical environments infrastructure • Accountable to maximize physical infrastructure systems 7x24 uptime at TD’s data centres and critical facilities on a day-to-day basis through the provision of professional operational and maintenance practices • Provides technical leadership / consulting / direction to a larger team, internal real estate partners and 3rd party services providers on all aspects of critical environments engineering and operations
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's or Graduate degree
- 10+ years relevant experience
- 7+ years related experience in the field of Critical Environments will be considered
- Experience supporting engineering and operations across multiple locations hosting Critical Environments spaces and infrastructure
- Experience in the preparation and process management of complex operating procedures (i.e., EOPs, SOPs, MOPs)
- Expert knowledge of specific domain or broad range of engineering frameworks, electrical and mechanical systems
- Advanced and highly specialized knowledge of critical environments, applications
- Ability to provide guidance on technical matters and respond to emergencies, escalations, inquiries from business unit staff and 3rd party service providers
- Must be detail oriented and possess problem-solving skills including but not limited to investigating incidents and preparing root cause analysis reporting (RCAR)

The role involves managing development and support, including application deployments, production support, and implementing machine learning solutions such as generative AI to improve Priority 1 application support. Also, should be able to manage reports if needed. The position requires knowledge of both traditional software development life cycle methods and modern AI algorithms, proficiency in Java Full Stack, Kafka, React, Node.js, Azure and experience with the GenAI stack (including RAG and agents), expertise in AI evaluation tools and techniques, and an ongoing commitment to responsible use of AI within regulated healthcare environments. The ideal candidate brings strong domain expertise in Claims Accumulator Hub workflows, deep hands-on engineering ability, architectural decision-making capability, and a proven track record of reducing incidents, improving system SLAs, and driving measurable reliability advancements.
