VP, Field CTO – Telecommunications
NewRocket
• Define NewRocket's offering strategy for the telecommunications industry, identifying the highest-value business process problems where NewRocket can deliver differentiated outcomes. • Partner with Marketing to develop industry-specific messaging, positioning, and content — including thought leadership, solution briefs, campaign assets, and event presence — that generates awareness and top-of-funnel pipeline. • Represent NewRocket's telco point of view externally through speaking engagements, industry forums (TM Forum, GSMA), white papers, and executive roundtables. • Monitor industry trends — BSS/OSS modernization, 5G monetization, AI-driven network operations, agentic AI, cloud-native transformation — and translate them into timely, relevant go-to-market narratives. • Design and architect AI-powered solutions purpose-built for the telecommunications industry — including agentic AI workflows, predictive operations, intelligent process automation, and AI-assisted customer and network management. • Define how AI capabilities map to specific telco business processes — for example, AI-driven fault prediction and resolution in network operations, intelligent order fallout management in service fulfillment, dynamic resource reassignment in field operations. • Develop AI solutions that is aligned with ServiceNow’s broad capability areas that integrate with existing BSS/OSS and network environments, clearly defining data inputs, model requirements, workflow orchestration, and business outcome metrics. • Stay current on the evolving AI and agentic landscape — including large language models, AI agents, and multi-model orchestration — and translate these into credible, practical applications for telco clients. • Work with NewRocket's internal AI capabilities (including the Intelligent Agent Crew and NewRocket Intelligence) to apply and extend proprietary assets in telco-specific contexts. • Identify and design data offerings specific to the telecommunications industry — addressing the data challenges, gaps, and opportunities that sit behind every major telco transformation initiative. • Define telco-specific data products and frameworks across key domains: • Architect data integration and management frameworks — including data strategies and data quality approaches — that enable AI, analytics, and operational intelligence use cases. • Engage directly with C-level, VP, and senior executive stakeholders at telco clients and prospects — leading strategic conversations that connect business outcomes to solution architecture. • Facilitate executive workshops and architecture reviews that surface the right business priorities, define success criteria, and establish NewRocket as a trusted strategic partner.
Job Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in solutions architecture, strategy consulting, or technology leadership with direct experience serving or working within the telecommunications industry.
- Demonstrated track record of developing go-to-market offerings, solution frameworks, or industry practices — not just delivering projects.
- Experience engaging at the C-suite and VP level, driving strategic technology conversations that result in business commitment.
- Deep, practitioner-level knowledge of core telco business processes across 2 of the 3 major areas of the value chain:
- Strong architectural fluency across BSS/OSS platforms (Amdocs, Ericsson, Oracle Communications, Netcracker, Salesforce Industries), integration patterns, AI/ML architecture, and cloud-native telco architectures.
- Experience architecting AI and agentic solutions — including LLM-based workflows, predictive analytics, intelligent automation, and multi-agent orchestration — within enterprise technology environments.
- Proficiency with TM Forum frameworks — eTOM, TAM, and Open APIs — as tools for offering design, scoping, and executive communication.
