Project Manager II

Role Description GCI's Project Manager II is responsible for leading multiple concurrent projects to completion by following project management methodology to initiate, plan, execute, control, test, report, and close out projects to specifications within deadlines and budget. Project responsibilities include reviewing project requirements, design documents, business validation, and post-launch support. - Manage personnel resources within all internal engineering groups, consultants, and contractors. - Work across multiple department lines, identifying resources needed both internally and externally. - Engage professional design and engineering services, and general contractors. - Develop and maintain project budgets and project schedules, including traditional Gantt and PET charts. - Validate project requirements, design documents, prepare and submit capital plan approvals, prepare project bid information. - Ensure project documentation is current, accurate, and complete. - Support and define project scopes with internal and external customers. - Oversee and participate in procurement of services and materials to include FFE. Qualifications - A combination of relevant work experience and/or education sufficient to perform the duties of the job may substitute to meet the total years required on a year-for-year basis. - High School diploma or equivalent. - Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, industrial management, engineering, or related field. - Minimum of four (4) years of project management experience to include developing project budgets and schedules. Requirements - Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred. - Logistics and procurement experience preferred. - Telecommunications experience preferred. - Other telecom industry or job specific certifications preferred. - Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and a satisfactory driving record. - Must be able to drive when in remote communities and operate ATV-style vehicles if necessary. Benefits - Participation in a DOT or non-DOT drug and alcohol testing program may be required. - Available to work additional time on weekends, holidays, before or after normal work hours when necessary. Role Description The Senior Manager of State Policy, Intermountain West is responsible for the development and implementation of SEIA’s policies and positions in Colorado, Nevada, and Arizona, as well as monitoring policy activity in New Mexico and Utah as needed. These policies include both legislative and regulatory initiatives. The position reports to the Vice President of State Affairs, works closely with the Senior Vice President of Policy, and will work in close collaboration with other SEIA departments, including Regulatory Affairs, Research, Communications, and Membership. The ideal candidate should have the desire and demeanor to build a strong network within the solar and clean energy industries and will have had professional exposure to energy policy and/or markets, and be familiar with enabling technologies such as storage, demand response, distribution management systems, and electrification. Familiarity with topics such as rate design, interconnection, integrated resource planning, grid modernization policies, as well as renewable energy program design, is highly desirable. The successful candidate must be able to build relationships and be a natural collaborator. He or she is able to manage project teams effectively and facilitate dialogue with both internal and external colleagues. Qualifications - A bachelor’s degree is required. - 4 – 8 years of experience in solar, energy, advocacy, or related fields. - Regulatory experience in the region is preferred and legislative experience is a plus. - Preference is given to candidates with demonstrated experience in electricity/utility/renewables/generation sectors. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. - Self-starter – can work independently and remotely. - Ability to work effectively as part of a team and is able to perceive when to lead and when to build consensus.
