Role Description GovCIO is currently hiring for a Technical Analyst to review data to ensure timely completion of objectives. This position will be fully remote within the United States. The Technical Analyst will work in a dynamic and learning-focused environment where client needs evolve quickly. The ideal candidate brings curiosity, strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and a willingness to grow technical skills. Responsibilities include: - Reviewing datasets to help verify accuracy, completeness, and alignment with business and analytical requirements. - Assisting in monitoring data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and system outputs to identify basic inconsistencies or anomalies. - Documenting data findings, observations, and issues while collaborating with engineering, development, and QA teams on resolutions. - Supporting requirements gathering by helping translate business needs into clear functional and technical tasks. - Contributing to data modernization and process improvement efforts with guidance from senior team members. - Maintaining project documentation, status updates, and metrics tracking. - Supporting root-cause analysis efforts by gathering information and summarizing findings. - Participating in testing activities, including data validation, functional checks, and user acceptance testing. - Following established security, governance, and quality standards within federal guidelines. Collaboration & Agile Delivery: - Working within Agile and iterative delivery frameworks such as SAFe, Lean Kanban, and DevSecOps. - Participating in sprint ceremonies, backlog refinement, and daily stand-ups. - Assisting in tracking risks, dependencies, action items, and issue logs. - Contributing ideas and observations to support continuous improvement. - Collaborating with product owners, developers, data engineers, and other stakeholders to support successful delivery. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in a technical, analytical, or related field, with 5+ years (or commensurate experience). - Foundational understanding or coursework exposure to: - Azure Data Lake - Azure Databricks - Azure Synapse Analytics - Data Mesh or distributed data architecture concepts - Strong analytical thinking, communication skills, and attention to detail. - Ability to learn new tools and technologies in a collaborative environment. - Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a remote team. - Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust / Suitability clearance. - Exposure to or interest in working within a federal or civil agency environment (Veterans Affairs experience preferred but not required). Requirements - Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust clearance. Preferred Skills and Experience - Familiarity with Jira or other Agile work management tools. - Exposure to data quality concepts, metadata practices, or governance frameworks through coursework, internships, or projects. - Basic understanding of cloud concepts, ETL/ELT workflows, or software development lifecycle principles.
