Job Description

Product Designer

Minno

Role Description Minno is hiring a Product Designer to own the end-to-end product experience for kids and families across our digital ecosystem. This person will design intuitive, joyful, and developmentally appropriate experiences that help children safely discover and engage with faith-based content while building trust with parents and caregivers. This role is ideal for a product designer with strong experience designing shipped digital products for kids. The right candidate understands that child-facing UX is not simply simpler adult UX. It requires thoughtful decisions around: - Age-appropriate navigation - Cognitive load - Safety - Delight - Accessibility - Parent confidence - Engagement You will partner closely with Product, Engineering, Content, Marketing, and Research to improve core journeys (onboarding, content discovery, search, browse, playback, profiles, parental controls). You will help establish Minno's product design system, strengthen design-to-engineering collaboration, and build a product design culture grounded in real insight from kids and families. This is not a traditional UI production role or a purely strategic leadership position. We are looking for a highly hands-on product designer who can operate as a player-coach: someone capable of bringing strong UX and product thinking while also shipping polished, practical work quickly in collaboration with Product and Engineering. Above all, this person will help make Minno's digital products more cohesive, trustworthy, engaging, and mission-aligned, ensuring every interaction serves families well and helps kids experience Jesus every day. Qualifications - 5+ years of UI/UX, product design, or interaction design experience with demonstrated growth in scope and ownership - Strong, direct experience designing shipped digital products for kids, children, or family audiences - A portfolio showing end-to-end product thinking: problem definition, audience, research, flows, interaction design, visual craft, tradeoffs, shipped work, and impact - Deep understanding of age-appropriate UX, including cognitive load, reading level, navigation simplicity, motor skills, tap targets, safety, delight, and parent trust - Strong comfort operating in ambiguity and rapidly evolving product environments where speed, iteration, and product judgment matter more than rigid process - Strong Figma skills, including components, variants, prototyping, design systems, responsive states, annotations, and engineering handoff - Experience designing consumer digital products across mobile, web, tablet, streaming, connected TV, or similar multi-platform environments - Ability to work closely with Product and Engineering from early concept through launch, QA, and iteration - Strong visual and interaction design craft with excellent judgment around simplicity, hierarchy, motion, feedback, and brand expression - Genuine alignment with Minno's Christian mission and enthusiasm for serving kids and families Requirements - Experience in kids streaming, children's media, EdTech, family subscription apps, kids games, or interactive learning products - Experience designing for both child users and parent/caregiver users in the same product ecosystem - Hands-on experience with streaming, video, audio, content discovery, recommendations, or media playback experiences - Experience building or maintaining a design system in a small or scaling product organization - Experience using research, usability testing, product analytics, A/B testing, or behavioral data to prioritize and evaluate UX improvements - Comfort designing across connected TV, tablet, mobile, and web where interaction models differ by platform - Familiarity with COPPA-aware, privacy-conscious, accessible, and non-manipulative design patterns for children and families - Comfort using AI tools to accelerate research synthesis, ideation, prototyping, and design production while maintaining strong product judgment Benefits - Competitive base salary commensurate with experience - Performance-based bonus - Equity package - Comprehensive benefits - Professional development opportunities, including key industry conferences and leadership development programs Company Description Minno is a global media and technology company based in Nashville, Tennessee, on a mission to help kids and families experience Jesus every day through media and technology. Founded in 2019, Minno is building the most trusted Christian media brand for the next generation. We differentiate ourselves through: - Experiential Excellence: Top-tier quality that changes expectations and raises the bar for Christian content. - Safe Entertaining Christian Content: Kid-friendly, entertaining, engaging, age-appropriate, and Biblically aligned content. - Practical Faith Support: Resources that cultivate faith, invite conversation, and foster spiritual growth. - Values the Global Church: Honoring the diversity of the global church and people as image bearers of God.
