Role Description CTG’s long-standing Fortune 500 client is seeking an experienced IT Database Administrator III to support and maintain enterprise Oracle database environments in a global production setting. This role is ideal for a senior database professional with expertise in Oracle administration, automation, performance tuning, and 24x7 production support. - Administer and support Oracle database environments including installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, backup, and recovery. - Provide production support for mission-critical database systems in a 24x7 environment. - Monitor database performance and perform SQL tuning and optimization. - Participate in Change Advisory Board (CAB) activities and provide database governance support. - Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues including root cause analysis. - Automate infrastructure and database administration tasks using scripting and automation tools. - Support database refreshes and collaborate with application support teams and third-party vendors. - Participate in on-call support rotation and provide off-hours support for critical production incidents. - Collaborate with global teams across multiple business units and time zones. Qualifications - 7+ years of Oracle Database Administration experience. - Strong experience with Oracle RAC, Grid Infrastructure, Oracle Enterprise Manager, and Linux scripting. - Experience supporting Linux and Windows environments. - Expertise in database monitoring, performance tuning, backup, and recovery. - Experience with automation tools such as PowerShell, Puppet, Chef, Ruby, Terraform, or similar technologies. - Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills. - Ability to work independently in fast-paced enterprise environments. Requirements - Experience working in manufacturing or highly regulated industries. - Knowledge of compliance standards including ITAR, PCI, HIPAA, NIST, and SOX. - Experience supporting SAP environments. • Designs, implements, and maintains full life cycle of complex databases including Tables, Views, Stored procedures, indexes, functions, jobs, rules and roles, replications, and other database objects. • Understands and maintains database interaction with other mission critical systems. • Manages or develops databases with respect to the operating system, access methods, and access time. • Creates or maintains database clustering. • Creates, monitors and troubleshoots database replications. • Provides highly technical expertise in the use of database management systems. • Defines file organization, indexing methods, and security procedures for specific user applications. • Conducts device allocation, validation checks, organization, and statistical methods. • Maintains database dictionaries. • Integrates systems through database design. • Works in collaboration with Development and Engineering teams. • Evaluates and recommends available database management products and services. • Follows database standards and plays a quality assurance role.

• Administer, monitor, and maintain the health of large-scale physical PostgreSQL clusters • Investigate critical availability and performance incidents • Work extensively on Linux kernel-level tuning • Plan and apply operating system and database stack updates • Optimize key PostgreSQL configuration parameters

• Drive data infrastructure that enables data-informed decision-making • Partner closely with Product Managers, Data Analysts, Software Engineers, and business stakeholders • Deliver stable, high-quality data pipelines, enterprise reporting, and datasets • Optimize and maintain OLTP databases, ensuring reliability, performance, and production readiness • Audit systems, improve data quality, refactor legacy pipelines, and apply best practices • Build and maintain scalable data systems that power advanced analytics across the business • Design performance testing and release validation frameworks to prevent regressions • Establish strong production processes such as monitoring, alerting, backup and recovery, access controls, and incident response
