Molding and Casting Engineer

Xometry Europe

• Communicate with Sales Team and manufacturers across Europe and Asia in order to prepare quotations; • Analyzing incoming 3D CAD part design for High Pressure Injection Molding, High Pressure Die Casting, Thermoforming, other tooling technologies; • To optimize part 3D CAD design and improve part design feasibility; • Participate in pre-sales meetings with Sales Team and external customers via video-calls, support technical questions/answers; • Support DFM stage of the project in order to verify technical solutions proposed by a manufacturer and to present, and explain it to the end customer.

Job Requirements

  • Professional experience in one of the following field: High Pressure Injection Molding Tools Designer, Thermoplastic processing engineer, Design engineer for HPDC, LPDC;
  • Experience in engineering role on a production floor with plastic processing OR in a development of parts suitable for molding/casting processing;
  • Expert knowledge: part design rules for a feasible high pressure injection molding processing or aluminium die casting, most common processing quality issues and root causes, understanding of Mold Flow analysis and it results,
  • Understanding of various plastic post-processes: pad-printing, silk-screening, spray painting, chroming, hot foil stamping, etc
  • Knowledge of other tooling technologies like Vacuum Casting in silicone molds, Compression Molding, Investment Casting, Sand Casting will be a benefit;
  • Strong multicultural communication skills in English with ability to convince, justify and defend ideas, and technical solutions in front of external / internal stakeholders.
