Role Description The Senior Software Engineer I is responsible for creating and maintaining software that is sold by Inductive Automation, LLC. They participate in all phases of product development, including: - Design - Specification - Implementation - Testing - Building - Deployment - Documentation - Support - Maintenance This role may be required to interact with customers to troubleshoot products or obtain requirements. This is a full-time position with remote, hybrid, and on-site opportunities available. Position Snapshot Works primarily to complete detailed models of concrete reinforcing products, including production data. AutoCAD with RebarCAD is the primary detailing software. This role will also involve learning other software tools to communicate with our operating software systems. Projects will be assigned by the Operations Manager. Once assigned to a project, the Senior Detailer will work at the direction of the assigned Project Manager to meet all client needs. This position is a remote role that reports directly to the Company’s Home Office. Essential Duties and Responsibilities An individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. - Develop detailed construction and rebar fabrication drawings using AutoCad and RebarCAD. - Create reinforcing steel shop drawings, placing drawings, and bar bending schedules. - Work with team members to design, layout, or detail components and structural systems. - Troubleshoot and modify drawings as needed. - Perform rebar-to-engineered structural mesh (ESM)conversions and prepare shop drawings as necessary through the use of Tekla and other software to support ESM product designs. - Prepare professional conversion presentations including AutoCAD drawings, spreadsheets, engineering calculations, and correspondence. - Provide conversions that facilitate economic manufacturing. - Provide takeoff and shop drawing preparation services. - Participate in processes that manage and satisfy customer expectations. - Interpret customer-provided structural and reinforcing drawings to prepare competitive ESM designs. - Communicate effectively with customers, internal teams, and sales staff to clarify technical requirements. - Ensure all drawings and ESM documentation are accurate, complete, and consistent for fabrication and sales interpretation. - Assist with Project Manager responsibilities as needed. - Other duties may be assigned. Professional Qualifications - 4+ years of experience detailing reinforcing steel (rebar). - Hands on experieince using RebarCAD within AutoCAD is strongly preferred. - Experience working for a rebar fabricator or reinforcing steel supplier is highly desirable. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. - Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions. - Proven ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. - Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across teams and organizational levels. - Demonstrated initiative and resourcefulness in researching, troubleshooting, and resolving challenges. - Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity. - Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a team. Education and Experience - Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field preferred but not required with relevant industry experience. - Minimum 4 years of reinforcing steel detailing experience, preferably using RebarCAD. - Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and reinforcing steel detailing practices. - Experience with Tekla, Revit, or other BIM applications is a plus. - Understanding of concrete reinforcing systems and structural drawings. - General understanding of basic building systems. - Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. - Proven capabilities as a rebar detailer. What we are looking for SCS Engineers is looking for a Principal Design Engineer for our Energy Business Unit to play a critical role in supporting the engineering and design team to ensure the successful delivery of large-scale environmental and infrastructure projects. This position is responsible for alignment, accuracy and coordination of each project design package, ensuring seamless integration between each of the engineering disciplines, their design packages, constructability, budget, schedule, and regulatory requirements. This engineer will work both in the office environment and at various project locations around North America. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Process, Chemcial, or Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field required. - Minimum of 15 years of experience in engineering design coordination or related roles within infrastructure or environmental projects required. - Proven success managing designs for projects over $20M, Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and managing complex design processes. - Familiarity with project design & management methodologies. - Proficient in MS Office 365 products, design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Cadworx, Bluebeam, Civil 3D, etc.), and lean construction techniques (Last Planner, Pull Planning, CPM). - Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification is a plus. - Ability to travel to project sites as required (25-30%). - Valid driver's license with a driving record in good standing required.
